Nah Im quiet right actually (I will admit...This is rare! lol)
We are at this very moment "trying" to bring national "cloud" computing to NZ....and its hitting more hurdles than a drunk horse at a steeplechase.
The National Links are already stressed (Just look at the work we have done to get Aucklanders some form of broadband speed!...and THATS a joke in its self)
My old Team used to look after the Police comms and there national network....its 20yrs outdated, unreliable (Yet secure!...so don't try anything!...or we release the ninjas!) and we begged for over 2yrs to obtain more funding for the police & emergencey services so we could upgrade this outdated tech and provide better services....And we are still waiting!
So in short...ya safe for now Steve......for now! (but we are working on this...were gonna have to build a Terminator to take care of you tho)
...Big brother ISN'T watching...hes to busy rebuilding routing tables!

Well he may not be watching, but he sure as hell is listening every-time a key word is spoken, say enough of them and congrats your on the watch list (or listening list as it maybee).
Watching wouldn't be that greater stretch we have cams everywhere incl red-light & council owned it's not hard for the Govt to start utilizing these for their own profit like with speed scams

You're right, to the extent that we're monitored every second of the day and charged with every miniscule infraction, it probably won't happen in our lifetime.
However, the level of electronic monitoring is increasing almost by the day. If we don't stop it in it's tracks now each successive generation is going to have an increasingly hard time just being themselves.
Yep, this is what I meant.
"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin (1706-90)

Look, slow drivers 'force' their view point upon us, those drivers who wish to travel at the speed limit legally.
Fast drivers do not 'force' anyone to go faster. Slow drivers 'force' everyone behind them to go slow.
Doesn't quite seem fair, but that's how it goes. I swear some of those slow drivers do it on purpose.
I also reckon (unfounded of course, but why let that ruin anything) that in Auckland it would seem that the same vehicles day after day continue to be in slow mode in the right hand lane (fast lane being not approved language), I have therefore started a rumour that these people are in paid employment of the motorway patrol to deliberately slow traffic down.

Quite correct ...
If lanes are marked ... it is LEGAL to overtake on the left OR right ... (for the Dyslexic ... that means EITHER side)
However ... it it advised in most official publications, that slower traffic should move to the left to allow faster traffic to pass ... (but WHO reads them ... eh !!!)
Maximum speeds allowed depends on the speed zone the marked lanes are in .. (funny that)
If two vehicles in two different lanes ... are travelling side by side ... at the posted speed limit ... they ARE within the law. (like it or not ... usually NOT)

What's the go with passing lanes? You know, the ones with the massive sign saying "Keft left unless passing". If a car is travelling side by side with another, it is clearly not passing, but also can't move to the left lane without either speeding up or slowing down. Is the sign more just a guideline than a legal requirement?
"Keep left unless passing" is not law ... just as "share the road" signs are not.
If both vehicles are at the posted speed limit ... no law is broken.
If both vehicles are travelling BELOW the speed limit ... The "impeeding traffic flow" occurs ... which IS an infringement ... and BOTH vehicles could be charged ...
