Neil is considering going up but if it is track 3 personally I think you're better off not wasting your time

It can be modified quite a lot. So I here. But track 2 is the best bucket big track I have ever ridden. Its been proven that HP can be beaten with skill on that circuit. Andrew A won his first GP on a near standard FXR there. The next year he won with skill in the rain. Best track. And by the way he can't win 3 in a row that is just wrong.
I'm just glad it's happening at all, was looking a bit touch and go for a while.
Well, by the way this is actually a Sunday race. This has been bouncing around for a while as we had had no luck and then we thought Skunk had it in hand then we were offered a chance at Track 3 and had talked to MNZ and then heard again that Skunk had applied so left it but it seems that Pacific Club has it. This was launched onto the MNZ website before we expected.
The day will also involve a Track Day so bring other bikes if you can. Nigel is organising entry details and will have them available shortly.
THIS will take place instead of Roys Hill on that weekend. We will be applying for a single event permit from local council for the 3rd/4th December round of the NI Series
Thank you Nigel, Skunk and NSR
Hmm, track day, wonder if I could get the RS around the track a bit quicker than the bucket. Probably not, or not by much lol. Then again, wonder if I could get the RS out from under Henk. Fat chance, but I'll have to ride Max down to Taupo.
Hey thanks guys for organising something. We've run the bucket GP on this track configuration before, but I'm not sure how much (if at all) it has changed. It wasn't that bad, we put a bit of a chicane early in the straight which limited the speed you entered the straight.
Glad to be able to race. Orr-sum!
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
It's easy to put a chicane in the straight to even things up. It's been done before and worked well. It's still a great little track on a bucket.
Agree with Rich about the other track being better though.
What Mr Green said !!
But its brilliant to have the GP on again and at a central NI location ..Great work from all the people involved in sorting it out ! Cheers fellas ..
Aklanders, lets get together tommorrow and come up with a plan about where to stay Saturday night. Unless we can camp at the track.![]()
You used to be able to camp at the track, it seemed like it may have been a proper campground, without the showers, part from the one in the bottom of the old clubrooms/tech shed. Lack of garages would be a down side - getting old and soft don't you know.
I've ridded a lot on the old track and it is a great bucket track. We had a race that involved 5 RG50's nose to tail for the lead, no chicanes just flat out. As long as the GP is atleast 30 minutes long the high HP bikes may have a speed advantage but they still have to finish the race. It will take a good handeling, properly braked, lightweight bike with a good motor and a good rider to win on that track.
