...there was nobody using them at the time and SAR have been notified and put on standby if the tables need moving to higher ground.

Got a small shower of rain here ... not enough to dampen the concrete ...

By comparison ... Milford Sound gets 11 metres of rain annually ...

I'm setting up a communty taskforce to support the displaced picnic tables when they are finally recovered (sic) & placed back in their respective locations. There is no telling what kind of post traumatic behaviour could occur to them after this unprecedented act of hostility.

Noone ever thinks about the picnic tables...

    donations gratefully accepted...

One of my clients caught a fish off the picnic table at the Lake Rotoroa kids playground.

State of emergency has been declared. Once in 20 year flooding and may be upgraded to once in 50...

Jenni is off to keep an eye on the reservoir above Richmond...

It's already 10cm deep in the backyard.
The backyard with the sump that can handle 8-10 cubic metres of water without any showing above the gravel...
The sump also drains into the stormwater...

Gulp, sitting here in Richmond listening to the creek that runs past my boundary fair thundering. Dashed inconvenient.
Went for a looksee and where the creek goes into the culvert the water is just bubbling over the top and where it comes out the other side it is quite spestacular. There is a park that has levies? around it just over the road and it is a lake now. Very impressive. Fortunately our place is on a hill so not to worried about flooding here but the folk below us should be getting worried.

getting to work in Motueka tomorrow may be an issue in the car, so may have to fire up the KLR and utilise my superior deep water riding skills. Or stay home.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Crap, you might have to rearrange your filing system in the emporium.

We dont live very far from you guys in a straight line and so far it has just been pleasantly damp, 30mm at the most .....having said that it is fair pissing down at the mo with more forecast, this could be quite an event for low lying areas.
