Victory for Haldanes?

Had a perv in Haldanes window tonight looking at the new Multi when I noticed at the back of the showroom a half dozen or so brand new Victory's and a couple of second hand one's. So are Haldanes taking on the Victory brand or has TMG lost it? BTW the Hammer looked tasty!

Not sure what has become of TMG. I rode past there yesterday and the showroom had been emptied out. I wasn't really surprised. I always thought that was going to be a difficult location, and I never thought they had a wide enough range to bring enough people in.

TMG has relocated to Takanini and Victory didn't go with them

It's full circle for Haldanes as they had Victories about 10 years ago when they first came out

TMG has always been in Takanini, with the 2nd branch in Newmarket. The bulk of KTM servicing was done in Takanini, as Wayne the head mech was based there.

Why? I've always had my bike serviced there after buying it from new from them and never had anything to complain about.

p.s. haven't been in there for a while, but remember seeing the Vegas Low at Big Boys Toys one year and thinking "if I ever end up on a cruiser, one of those would be nice..."

I agree the people that have worked there for the last few years have been good, but a guy I hadn't seen before (in a Victory Motorcycles shirt) managed to screw up a chain and sprocket replacement on my 748 on Saturday. Usually I would have done it myself but I didn't have time this week and wanted to take the bike to Hampton Downs yesterday.

He set the chain tension with the eccentric shaft on the wrong side of the rear wheel axis, which lowered the rear end by several cm and completely ruined the handling at the track.
He should have had a big clue when the top of the chain didn't clear the chain guard anymore, but instead of wondering why, he fitted a "bracket extension" to raise the chain guard, charging me an extra half hour's labour and $15 for the part...
He told me this was because I was now using a slightly larger rear sprocket than the factory one.

I trusted the dealership to get it right and didn't think to check the eccentric position until after the first session at the track when everything felt wrong...

If the Victory guys can't get a simple chain and sprocket replacement right, would you trust them to complete a major service?
(Or maybe I should ask why a "Victory mechanic" was working on a Ducati at a Ducati dealership?)

That does sound a bit dodgyI hate crap like that especially when you end up paying.....

hey guys am new to this site. what happened to ramon in the workshop at haldanes? he was always realy helpful. he would often let me go in an use specialised tools i ddnt have. when i was rebuilding my tl1000.

Hey, welcome! Ramon wasn't there on Saturday. He helped me out when I was rebuilding a set of heads a few months ago. John is definitely still there.

Spoke to the new Victory guy again today, he didn't sound too sure about how he'd set the eccentric position... Said I could bring the bike back without a booking if I wanted him to have another look at it though.
