    Bummer Andi.

I'm just at the physio end of a broken finger and that has kept me off work for 10 weeks so far.

Roll chart done, all good except...

I thought it a good idea to line four or five of the pages up, use the ruler and the nice sharp razor blade, as you do....

Only to find out that the cells are differing lengths...
So, got it sorted, used the scissors and did it one by frikken one.....

The GPS is gonna be the go, but nice to have a Plan B....Like last time, put it in the bag at the Gladstone and then took it out when I got home to the Waikato....The GPS track was bloody excellent!

    slut!

As I said, it went in the bag at Gladstone 0630 mainly because I couldn't be fagged cable tying to the bars, one more thing to fall off....
AND, it worked a treat...Trust the waypoints and keep a good eye on the terrain......AND follow the other 110 buggers if you really are in the shit!

it isn't Dakar, smell the roses...

The thing the gps won't tell you is which gate to open & close.

Actually sometimes it does but you need to have it displaying the waypoint names and read them before it thinks you are ready for the next waypoint.

Last year I rode GPS only & like others was stumped by the 1st gate (I think the one where Ryan is gonna dazzle). Also after having to go back to Alex to refuel I tried to catch up at Carricktown(?). I rode around for a while & although I could see where on my GPS where i should be I couldn't locate the entry. Luckily Jezza & the KTM boys showed up with a route chart.
This year I'm gonna have the route chart in a map bag to use as a backup if I get in the same situation hence the desire to have all the strips on one page.

Hey Fellas I'm keen to get feedback on the GPS and roll chart. I've only had to follow a Roll Chart once and I've never had to rely on a GPS route file. You could say I'm more of a noob at using these than most of you fellas. Problem is that I've got the route permanently etched in my brain and there are bugger all other rides for me to "try out". So if you can be bothered and there are any issues please take note some how and email me after the event with feedback.

    Cheers R

Love to see your track log. Hard to imagine how the 1st gate would have messed you up even with detouring to keep dry feet.
