I really need to ride my bike...but I have 3 jobs and four children that need my attention....my bike is neglected. I must find some time to exercise both of us.

Rides have been few and far between over the last few months and I really lost my mojo when my ankle had me off for three months. I lost quite alot of confidence and my riding was suck. Have developed some of the old fears and really needed to build up some confidence.

I'd been for a couple of short rides with a new friend lately and she gave me some much appreciated feedback that bought the levels up somewhat. Then on Monday I took myself off to the Port Nelson Street Races and just watching how the big boys do it at speed opened up my eyes.

I also spent some time in conversation with a racer from days gone by and his input bought on more changes, plus I had a rather handsome house guest and some of our conversations also contributed to me having one the bestest rides ever last night.

My big boy had offered to come over so I could escape and clean out some much annoying cobwebs. He arrived for dinner at 6, I fed him, and the little ones and was on the road by 6.15pm.

My cutsie little bike took my over the Whangamoas for a wee education. Wow, was it fun. I really got into the groove of moving my body in those corners...I pushed myself past the moment of, that's not possible and realised that it is indeed possible. Yeeeeeehaaaa!

I know I can I do more and I'm looking forward to my next little blat about the hills, I'm learning that my mind and my body are I am capable of greatness. I know that this year I shall be doing loads of riding, especailly down through the Buller which I have only ever done half way! Sad indeed, time for changes and the time is NOW!
