Laxed out rides

Your profile says you have a 99' ZX6 I had one of these & never bothered to turn fuel tap off, tried doing it for awhile but i always forgot to turn the thing back on ( thankfully rides to work where mostly on a motorway ) I did buy it brand new & there was no mention of having to daily turn it off although I would turn it off if I wasn't riding for say, weeks on end rather than just days...... if in doubt ring Hamilton Motorcycles being a Kawasaki dealer, cool bike by the way

For those of you who have carbed bikes,
Do you turn off your petcock when your not riding?.......

but my manual does say that the fuel only flows to the carbs when the bike is started or running and is shut off when the bike is stopped.

Fuel only flows when the engine is running because there is a vacuum operated valve built into the fuel petcock.
So the above statement from your manual is true. No need to turn any fuel off when you are parked up.

kb_SF1 is possibly referring to a time prior to the arrival of the Japanese motorcycling industry when vacuum operated valves didn't exist.
In which case spilt fuel on the ground was a high possibility if the fuel was not turned off.

Paid me money over and have a reliever organimised. And according to metservice's website it just might be dry...maybe. At least as far as I can see yet anyway.

Thank you, it is an awesome bike im loving it so far. i thought this was the case just thought id ask other peoples opinions on the matter, wasnt worried, i never turned it off with my zzr i just saw a video the other day and the guy always turned his off(new zzr600) and thought it was a bit strange.

$80.00. But $50.00 if you are on a Honda. And yes, you need zip together leathers or one piece.

Car and bike need WOF and the bike needs new steering head bearings to pass WOF. Will see how much i get paid tonight and decide tomorrow. That is if there are any places left...

I can't really afford it either but I'm doing it anyway...creditors might get a bit shitty but what the hey...it's not far short of 40 years since I was on the track. I figure I better do it while I still can.

Think of it this way, you should be spending more on 'experience' things. That way, when the creditors come knocking, they can't take it away from you, and you still get ya jollies

Registration is 4.00pm. Track time from 5.00pm until 7.00pm. Supposedly get 4 x 15 minute sessions. Should be enough to shake out the cobwebs.

Oh and I spend most of my life on "experience" things. Always have. I was supposed to be dead before now but here I am still. Maybe I shoulda taken a bit more care..! or not...

Ye you should come. Be a reasonably sweet ride north to Hampton Downs on the west side of the river wouldnt it? And some filming/ pics would be wicked for the guys that are on track i'm sure
