Lucky I have grown fond of my moon boot

I had another x-ray today, and it is not healed

Still looks alot like it did the day I broke it really

Investigating options so I can at least get in the water when we go camping next weekend

    http://www.xerosox.co.nz/index.html

Anyone want to swap ankles for a couple of weeks?

    A pleasant surprise today.

I have worn out my moonboot.

It was a bit shabby before 2 weeks camping, but now it is simply dangerous

The sole is seperating from the actual boot at the toe, creating a really dangerous trip hazard. I cant stop myself from pitching forward onto my face if I really catch it The few times I have caught it have sent me doing "BIG STEPS" and praying

I also have worn a hole in the liner Velco hooks are not that comfy on your pathetically white and sensitive skin

So today I rang my ACC care co-ordinator and explained myself.

    She was surprised.

You dont wear these things out.

Well yes you do, if you actually follow your doctors instructions and keep mobile. I have done everything I can think of to keep active, and try to keep muscles sort of working. She told me to go back where I got it from and get a replacement. OK, an out patients clinic at North Shore Hospital? Just how long would it take to get an appointment there? She agreed that was not an option, so simply said, buy a new one and we will reimburse you

So, I have a new boot on order - I hope it is the racing variety

    Trust you!

I guess its not really like shopping for a new pair of shoes though is it...
Try not to wear this one out before you are done with it,eh?

One of the women at work had this most lovely pair of shoes on the other day. I thought about stealing them when she was not looking (probably would have needed to bash her to get her attention elsewhere mind) then I realised I could not wear them anyway *sigh*

Yeah, sucks at the moment, I HAVE to be sooooooooo good LOL. Thanks caseye, I AM getting better. The last xray said "the partial union is progressing but not complete". I took that as a big positive, as before the comments were more along the lines of "there has been very little improvement etc..."

    Moon Boot For Sale

Yes indeedy folks, one hardly worn moon boot surplus to requirements

Had an xray today, and amazingly enough, it has finally healed. 5 months and 1 week later I can start my rehabilitation at last

I can not beieve the time it has taken to mend, but as they say, good things take time

Physio starts asap and back on my beloved Millie in no time

Doc reckons it is as good as new and wont break again unless I put as much force through it as I did to break it the first time Not a chance of that happening anytime soon

I can not seem to wipe the grin off my face

Anne, you've just made my night. I was in need of some good news after a shitty day at work. VERY glad to hear it.
