Yeah no worries. Lots of people are doing lots of stuff and so far I'm only riding my bike and I'm not sick - least I can do.

Going by the pm's, that seems to be a popular turn of phrase.

I think we probably need to start firming up some of the details. Maha, could you update the second post with links to each section of the ride, thread starters to probably put the specifics of their section in their respective first posts?

I'm probably thinking further ahead than others, as I'm off south 2-3 days after Paeroa, and after that internet access will be slow and intermittent, so I wouldn't mind having the routes pre-done for the GPS, and knowing the timing etc. Will return north to Wellington Friday afternoon ready for Saturday morning.

I could, but I have left the 'route to be taken' up to each baton carrier. I would imagine that the shorest route will be taken.
Taupo to Te kuiti is easy as..Poihipi road through to Whakamaru then the Bennydale road to Te kuiti.
From there we will be going through (I will get back to that, to early to spell Maori names)

Edit: Te Kuiti/Otorohanga/Pirongia/Ngaruawahia/Rangiriri (on the western side of the river)
As for Sanson to Napier...have to check with Al (86GSXR)

Looks like I am not going to be able to make it, as I will be having surgery on my shoulder on the 28th (at this stage anyway), so no bikeeeeeee for a month or so (argh!).

I'm still trying to organise some media coverage, so could someone PM me details of people that our news editor can visit/call etc.. plueeeeeeshe :P

    Te Kuiti North

Mark, Te Kuiti to Hn or any place north is easy, where do you plan to do the change after Te Kuiti, if you want to do one. Could just head to the venue as a group.

The Hn LOR have a meeting on Wednesday at 5:30 at the club rooms so looking to update them on a plan.

PM me if you want to talk direct and I'll give you my phone number.

Maha, do you want the other threads that the guys are starting for individual sections printed for the baton as well as this one? If yes, could you ask them to add a list of all the sub-threads here so I make sure I don't miss any? (Apologies if I'm a bit thick and have missed a really obvious and easy way to do this).

I will do the printing as close as possible to my departure to Welly so I get it all (most likely print/bind on 1st March). Was thinking of dropping a note onto the threads close to the time so anyone can add last minute messages of support if they want to (and go back and edit anything they've said that they don't want to be immortalised in print perhaps). Unless you've got a different idea in mind the thread(s) will be on nice paper and bound.

Finally, my absolute favourite pic from Taupo - what an inspirational and lovely man:
