If he's really dumb enough to go and get this bike, there's not much anyone can do to stop him. Just another shore-boy too cool for school? Or does he thinl it will pull the hicks or something?
He'd have to go to Ekatahuna to pull the hicks.

Comment: steep learning curve. have learnt car driving from racing drivers and had a 400+hp car. so know the road. Rode every weekend with some of the more experience members from KB and learnt lots. Still I shat my pants when someone lent me their R1

Golden rule: The difference between a small and big bike is that a BIG bike will get you into trouble quicker. Much quicker.

If I was looking at this as an investment. I would pay 10k to buy your mate a 1000cc fireblade, in return I will have title to their life insurance at 200k. I think it will be a good investment.

As a biker: I would pray that he does not get a 600 or 1000 as their first bike. Saves me the funereal.
So then an Aprilia RS250 with 70bhp must be a lot slower than a Harley 883 Sportster with 45bhp because it has a smaller engine.

I can't help you if you choose to ride a 883 Harley. U choose the wrong smoke

2nd thought, it will be fun to see a learner on a RS250 as a first bike.... LOL. How long would it last...

I was simply trying to dispel the myth that big engine = big power. Oh, and I ride a gixxer, not a Harley.

Agreed. That doesn't apply to a CBR1000 thou Isn't it the reason some Harley's are called Fatbob. LOL

OMG is your flatmate for real??? Keep a video camera handy if this fool really does buy the blade. You'll at least have evidence for the crash investigators. I really hope you can talk him out of it.

    Hey! C'mon guys!

    This is serious shit!

*I* live in Chatswood, and don't want any noobs doing crazy shit on their Hyo Silver! And away!! or FartBlades, and attracting the attention of the popo, or (worse still!) my nosey neighbour, who's responsible for the annoying pedestrian island and no parking zone outside my house! GRRRrrrRRRR!!! and all that... I've already had one ticket just round the corner from home.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

This "Johnny" guy sounds like someone I know in the States...

Never riden a bike before 2 months later buys an R6...about 3 months from then (2months ago) Crashed on a "corner" trying to get knee down...ended up with sever concussion, punctured Lung and shattered ankle...

Guess what...he has now brought an R1!!!

Some people just don't get it!
