    What a f****n dumbarse

    Well what can I say?
it's been well over 20 yrs since I dropped a bike while riding, and fark me, this afternoon on a 25km bend? I bloody well did. Had a great afternoon over the 'rapa riding a circuit from Martinboro, Gledstone, then back to Martinboro taking the turn off from the Gledstone rd..... almost got home then ran into Vicki on her can am going out to pick up an item she'd bought. So off we went over the Kapiti coast.
Now I know people like Katman luuuurv to get into this and spew out a diatribe, so details are going to be sparse for that very reason.
Simply put, entered a tight 25k bend, and did not enter it in the correct line, for a specific 'reason'....... big bike, heavy, leant over, wrong line (too wide) and a 'step' right on the road edge where layers of tar end. Front wheel 'dropped' on this... wet ditch to the side and slippery entry.... One MT lying in shite in a ditch, and rider sitting on his arse in the road. A seconds loss of focus just on entry to the bend? Presto, one fucked bike. Well its still ridable but scratched up and some bodywork damage.
So all I can say, it can happen to anyone with just that slight 'distraction' at the wrong instant... pissed off? You bet I bloody am, with myself. There's nothing anyone can say I havent already said to myself, and as for no claims bonus loss? Oh thats going to sting like fark for the next few years! I guess this is a heads up for new riders... even us old bastards can 'fuck up' sometimes.... yup the grumpy old bastard IS human.

A stiff nightcap required by the sound of it.
Hate to say it but the reason you give for not sharing too any details is the reason I have a problem with the referenced attitude. Oh well at least you owned up to your mistake, the bike is still ridible and you are still here to tell the tale.

Fark mate, that's not good. Main thing is you came out ok. Bike can be repaired/replaced But I know what you mean about slight distraction. We all just hope that when we have one of those moments, we get up and walk away.

Often ... it's not a distraction. Just a small wrong decision. Slightly off a "usual" line gets compounded into a wrong place in the next line ... and because the original issue was so small you haven't felt the need to button off. (Not going that fast eh ... !!!) Then it's "How the fuck did that happen ... ???" Answer ... too easily.

I've done similar ... with similar results. Some aren't so lucky. I think you were. It just may not seem like it now.

And it usually does happen on familiar roads ... close to home.

Figured it was a timing issue but had to laugh at the irony!
