having the c/s sprocket slightly above or below the swingarm pivot can affect the interaction the chain has on the rear wheel/suspension,which of course can be a good thing or not (traction or squat)

How long ago was that? Not this year.

It's still the same bike as then. Everything else has moved on and improved. Even the CBR got lots of updated shit (no major redesign but lots of updates).

Interesting story on Soup about Suzuki and its finances here http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2012/Aug/120830suz.htm

Given how well the Swift sells in NZ I'm rather surprised that the folk in the USA don't lap them up too for little runabouts coz they sure as hell like little Hondas, but this article says that a withdrawal of the cars from USA was one possibility. I thought the Yanks had got over buying just pickup trucks and SUVs and that being the case anyway how come there isn't enough money in Suzuki SUVs?

See the sales figures here http://online.wsj.com/mdc/public/pag...autosales.html Toyota and Honda are racing ahead catching up after Japan earthquake and Suzuki has just tanked. No wonder there is no money at that company.

Someone else can check out motorcycle sales but maybe it shows the same bad data. No money certainly means no good for MotoGP effort.
    Cheers

    Merv

I remember him saying that the lack of torque from the 800 made it harder for him to rear wheel steer the bike.

Yes I love doing it my way, first time I got off the train at Borge San lorenzo some Italians just happened to come out of their house as I passed and one recognised a Crosby T shirt I had on.
I ended up drinking their home made Grappa and their daughter rang around looking for Accom. (I didn't know where I was going or even cared) They even got dressed up and took me 15kms to a hotel that she had found. ( I have stayed their ever since ).
Many, many experiences like that. Lovely people.
One thing leads to another, I then met a (now) friend at that hotel who has been involved with GPs for 33 years ! Elf fuel. He slips me a pass that is 'gold' I can wander anywhere . True I think about the VIP thing, I always do that stuff on the first day and from then on just roam.
Yes, anyone can get caught out in some places like I did in Barcelona once. I think being an ex copper helps with my judgement of people and being street smart.
I have many tales of my experiences.

Same here mate, I'm not sure what the big deal is with Hopper.

Spies is a better rider than we've seen in 2012. And I can not subscribe to him being hard on gear. eg: Like the shock failure at Laguna..............
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

That was Checa who rode like an idiot to take out Max Neukirchner on the last corner at Valencia while Neukirchner was leading.

    It wrecked a promising career....................

Agreed. Tech 3 and Factory Yamaha ride last year no drama's, this year: subframe failure, swingarm (shock?) failure, tyre chunking (wasn't alone that day), engine pop, even the clutch incident (telemetry shows normal launch, nothing unusual) can't be seen as Speez' fault. Add in food poisoning that had him nearly passing out on the bike and he must have run over a leprechaun with a lawnmower or something.

I thought he got taken out turn one lap one on the Suzuki and had to sit out the rest of that season from a leg turned to mush. Then came back on a Honda and got hit again and called it quits.

    Dude was seriously talented.
