He can. But I believe he generally holds the opinion that there are better things to be doing than being on a computer. So he won't.

"Better things to be doing than having a hunk of plastic to your ear listening to some stranger wow on" tell him to get with the plan rides organised online and that is the forum (excuse the pun) most seem to prefer to use - crikey carn't have the man ringing in the middle of coro Tell him to get on a computer - think he will find it worth it when his beamer pinned round the pig saddle

    Pig Saddle Route

Image below shows the route from Sheffield to Whitecliffs via Pig Saddle. We could then carry on up to Lake Coleridge and Porter Pass maybe???
See ya at The Peg on Saturday.

    Saturday Ride Options

Have a quick look at these options?
The Red Route is about 45km around the Pig Saddle Block, the Pink Block takes in Lake Coleridge & Lyndon and is about 100km, the other two tracks are the N & South Waimak at about 50km each..
Happy to do any of them.

That pig saddle way shorter than remembered as a teenager - missed Colgate part as thought crim wanted some air in springfield - as tango said be even better bit of road if it was blocked off to other traffic .....

Well I'm feeling fairly tired again, only a 200km day again too. Makes me wonder how on earth do I survive the DB1k weekend??? oh I know, more of this practice stuff and grow the distance as we go.... other endurance/fitness exercise helps of course too, I'll start again tomorrow. Only about 4.5 months to prep. ok I'm not actually that tired.

Quite enjoyed the greasyness of today with the wet ground in the rain and the MT21 front, didn't like eating pies in the rain, so glad it stopped.
Those water crossings were getting deep, but thankfully appeared easy for everyone.

There could be a nasty rumour of the WR on it's side where they might say I had slowed to turn at a gate, front wheel washed in the deep stones, we stopped and I lay it down.
Again, there were no cameras present so it's all just bollix I say.

Fun day thanks guys, looking forward to the next one...again.

    Great ride

Thanks for the company guys, another great ride. Need to sort out those carb hoses so I can keep going through those water holes! Just fitted a new M21 on the Front and E09 on the Back, so ready for some more action!

Yea, had looked a while ago, tis no problem, I'm a DB1k Veteran you know, I know what I'm doing.
Was just remembering a story I heard recently of where someone thought it was a good idea to have a go at the DB1k not realising how much more ride fit you need to be over their usual road riding.
    Didn't end well.
All hear/say with out any hard evidence of the facts on hand but needless to say it pays to build up some adventuring stamina leading up to the event to be able to enjoy it fully and that's part of what I'm starting to do for myself already as I don't feel quite up to my normal fitness level for this time of year.
