The length of time some HD's sit on Trade Me

Talked to my friend who works at Victory of Mesa

Gave him the list prices as advertised by Rolling Thunder for 2013 new Harleys.

Heritage Classic Softtail is listed as $37,990 NZD ($31,900 USD).

Mike says their price for the same is "about $17-18K USD".




Ow... fuck that.


Gave him the list price for the 2013 Sporty 48.

His reply was "Damn, that's pricey. For that money over here, you could almost get a Fat Boy."


Those are some painful differences, especially given the NZD strength against USD.


Might see if Victory Of Mesa wants to send one over in a year or so, when I got the spare cash.

lets not forget that the HD are made in the USA so I would expect them to be cheaper there

They make bikes in Malaysia too,strangely they dont sell many here.....

When I brought mine, I looked at importing one also, the cost to import a single bike by the time you added customs, shipping, GST etc etc there was only about $1k in it.

they're there so they can tell the bros they've still go there harley and the wives that they're trying to sell them but can't.

Some just don't want to get rid of them but put them on trademe to keep the wives happy. If they can't sell it well they get to keep it. If they do sell it for the price they put then that's a bonus for them really.
