how about a late model 1300 and shave off my 25kg beard? nom nom.. one day maybe.

I've got 1 FZR motor and another which is near complete.. could prob sell them (if there is a market) and go newer power plant..

Or spend cash with Grumph tuning the fzr/yzf unit.. so many choices, so little cash.

Can you get 200hp out of them ?

For what it would cost, you'd save ten grand buying my old superbike and putting that motor in. 192bhp on Ray Clee's factory pro dyno, at the tread was the most it made, but was a better motor at 187.

All that said, Steve Bron went faster than his own lap records easily all around the country, after he blew up his hot motor, and used a standard one.

even I know better than that...

In the SI Kai, it;s all about midrange on Puna and Levels. just putting the cams in the right place on those 5 valve wonders makes quite a difference. Even the R1's respond to that.
120 at the wheel with a broad torque spread would make riding it easier.

Yeah, thats about all the dumbass that put the ones in Jays GSX knew about them before Grumph came along too.
Hang on a minute, you built that motor the first time didnt you? It had all the hallmarks of being built by a plastics retailer.

    OK, less fast then.

Build update. K8 shock is too big in the body for what we want to do with it. Upside, the RF unit is spot on. It's fully rebuildable with all the adjustment range we'll need, so woohoo, my rotten old RF is no longer baggy in the arse!

I saw the Harris swingarm today at a mates workshop awaiting truing and welding.....wtf was he doing ? Bouncing it over kerbs ???

I'd fully endorse scrivy's advice to gritblast (not sand ffs) the bitch and go over it minutely....Never know it may sort some handling probs....

You sound more like Graeme every day

Well, errr..... YES! Graeme 'man boobs' Harris went on the grass - over the ripple strips more than once coming out of the bus stop chicane at Levels....

I'd fully endorse scrivy's advice to stay on a short bike....
    Well, woo hoo!! Another believer!!

How'd you know?? Was it the abs used on the cam caps, or the teflon used as helicoils, or poly ethylene used as the guide seals, or polycarbonate used for the valve springs???? What gave it away???

I know, it was the fact that it had a preference for containers....... (in one now to PI).

It was the complete lack of knowledge of anything mechanical & the broken after market cam chain guide that appeared to be made of a plastic salad spoon handle that was the clincher.
