Cannabis plants 'juiced'

A Collingwood bartender caught growing 122 cannabis plants told police he made juice out of the cannabis leaves to provide relief from a medical condition.

Police raided Krishna Mason's Puramahoi property in Golden Bay after spotting plants growing during their annual aerial search.

Police found 122 plants on the property, which had a caravan and several out buildings.

The plants ranged in size from 20cm to 2 metres tall. They were reasonably healthy, police said.

Mason showed police a banana box containing 125 grams of cannabis.

He told police he had a medical condition, and the plants were for his use.

He said he stripped the leaves off the plant and put them in a juicer.

He could get 60ml of juice from an ounce of cannabis.

Yesterday in the Nelson District Court he admitted charges of possessing cannabis and cultivating cannabis.

His lawyer David Holloway said Mason accepted it was a large number of plants, but most of them were around the 20cm mark.

Mason was a Christchurch earthquake refugee. He could pay a fine as he had savings from work he had in Christchurch.

Judge McKegg fined Mason $800.

Thank you for your post. I would like to put to you that if people simply accepted the laws of the nation and never questioned them women in New Zealand would still not have the right to vote, retailers wouldn't be open on Sundays and pubs would close at 6pm. You might not give a flying razoo about any of that but the fact remains that some did and they challenged what was then the status quo. Laws of the land are unlike the laws of physics in that ultimately they are just words written on paper, by mere mortals who are part of society. Society changes over time as do peoples beliefs and accepted norms. Sorry to state the obvious but after reading your post I didn't think you'd mind.

I think you're making way too much of the original subject Dawn. This thread has moved on from there to a discussion (among other things - i.e. Ed's addiction) of the pros and cons of cannabis reform. Hey, plenty of other countries are considering it - why shouldn't we.

Which only a limited number of people keep referring to. In addition, I personally have no issue at all with reform and whether NZ should go the same way as other countries on this topic. For NOW though, as the law currently stands I have no problem whatsoever standing by the comments I've made.

Just to wind you up a bit further though - yes, the girl in the OP could just as easily be a vindictive bitch who was told that she couldn't attend a party that Saturday night.

Akzl spouts a ton of shit, but there is a lot of truth in what he says, it's his delivery that makes him look like a raving idiot.
I would assume that akzls mother thinks hes quite 'perfect' and can say for sure that your daughter isn't, threatening to kill someone for comments on a forum isn't what I'd call well adjusted.
