It was a common conversion back in the day, both here and in Aus. One big advantage was the weight saving with the V8 fitted.

    That has a nice patina

I've been looking at many cheap classics on Tardme this week seems to be an abundance of 'em.
So when I flick the Ovlov off, I may buy a nice lil' 4 cyl

A few Wobbly...errr Woseley 1300s for sale too

Very soon, I will have no excuse at all. I am just about (just about = 2 more weeks) to put the roof on my 6m x 5m carport/shed/workshop. You'll be suprised to hear that the guys at the council were just amazingly helpful. I just need some clear days so I can bang in the noggins and screw the ColourSyeel on. The playwood can wait a bit longer.

I am close to getting a 1973 FIAT 124 Sport (the Ferrari looking one)

I might need to keep my eyes open for another classic down the line, as in a couple of months I'll be moving to classic car country, the mainland.
