I doubt that. I'd say the record books have far higher achievers. Mr Plod H.Q. just doesn't like to talk about it.

Tekapo at night in a frost condition, I'd say 192kpm is stupid risk taking, and add a pillion and he deserves being caught. Riders have no right endangering the helpless sods on the rear seat. At least in a car the passenger can change the radio station.

But on a fine day. Tekapo. Long straights with good visibility. A powerful bike. 192 is just taking it above idle.

I think the poster you quoted was putting his record up. Agree with the rest of your post.

Even bikes like a squarecase 750SS and mid nineties 750SS which aren't powerful bikes will indicate quite a bit more than that along those straights if someone did decide to crank them up coming back from a Ducati club run at Ohau

What a silly, silly man they would be.

Everyone knows Ducatis are only for display.

My work car a few years ago was a turbo 200ZX, dark red from memory and nobody gave it a second glance, man it was fun but the boss was always making threats about what would happen if I wrecked it, as-if!

I think the only difference with the one they used on the motorway in auckland was the turbo was bigger from memory, they went well with the standard 11a or 12a turbos.

Once, in another dimesion, I drove the delivery truck for the Mazda dealer who supplied Phil Alexander Rotisserie Engines.
They use to drop hot 11a's into Suzuki Swifts and Bongo Vans as well as build Moffat's race engines. Wouldn't have minded an old Bongo with 200 ponies - that would have been a giggle.

That would of been a giggle. They are just a ford spectron with a mazda badge are they not. Had a 4x4 bongo which was good off road but crap motor, forever breaking down. Got rolled in the end.

In the end ??? My first thought was "A Bongo with 200??? That'll roll well ... " what took so long?
