The meds one is a hard one. some meds are are gods send to some and killers to others. It again comes down to the individual and how well they communicate with their doctor.
The state look more at the cost to benefit ratio.

Just responding in kind to those who can't think, perhaps can't is bit steep but I'll stick with it, one single step beyond that which they believe that they know. Definitive answers on a subject that has so many parameters and variables only yield inane prattle. You started it.

How do you get people to comply. Now I am not talking about Turkey and the government over reaction to a protest, I'm meaning things like the the occupy and general day to day stuff.

And stop using big words, you know i have to Google them.

a quite simple example that you should be able to relate to.

the law states that 100 kms/hr is maximum speed on open roads unless otherwise indicated.

if you drive above 100 kms/hr you will get a fine when caught by a cop.

if you do not like fines, you will comply and only ever ride/drive the indicated and legal speed limit.

fines, warrants and finally prison terms are the means to keep the citizenry in their place....and the cops are the once enforcing the "laws of the land'.

Really where have i blamed anyone? I think that is your domain not mine.
And now you are saying it'd misadventure, man too many straws. you work in media don't you.

Take penicillin, to some it is a wonder drug some it will kill, do we stop giving it to everyone? how do people know they will react to it before they take it.
Methotrexate, (it's a drug for arthritis and cancer) the side effects can be massive, or to a lot of people it is a wonder drug that stops pain and the degenerative effects on joints and have no side effects.. It is up to the patient to relate to the doctor what side effects they are having so they can advise accordingly.

But I get it, you think all bad things are someone else's fault.

So what would you do with the ones that just don't comply, like the occupy movement?
The ones that run up $$$$$ in fines just to go to court and have them wiped or that guy that killed 4 people (in different crashes) while drunk.

If we don't have the laws in place what will it be like?
If we don't give the police the tools to back them up what are we saying to those that don't comply?

I have no issues with demonstrations....you do. So basically i would do very little with any Occupier movement, considering that I actally believe that they have valid points. alas they are not rich enough to go for private tea with dear leader.

the guy that killed 4 people in different crashers should be locked up for manslaughter and eventually for premeditated murder considering that he knew he was going to kill again. Life without parole (if this is possible in NZ, but then I am german, and in germany he would have lost his lisences for ever after the first crash, and causing death t he would have ended up in prison for some time)

Laws can be used for the good and the bad, dear Boris.
In Nazi Germany it was very legal to lock up Lesbians, Homosexuals, Political Dissidents, German Jews and European Jews and ship them off to the Camps to be killed.
In Communist Germany it was legal to deprive children of Education because their Parents were considered not communist enough.

A cop spraying a peaceful demonstrator in the Face (as seen on TV and Newspaper and the Internet) is not upholding a law, that cop is enforcing compliance.....leave...now!

but you know all that, you are just some little troll who really believes that shit can't happen here, and if it does, valiantly you will submit fearing that compliance will be forced upon you.

As for you dumbass example of penicillin.....if you go to a doctor and you need an antibiotic you are asked if you have allergies. If you say yes....than they will give you something else. Penicillin...which effn century do you life in?

Mashed food for you only and always.

I'm still around. But I'm not a participant in this forum. I'm only an observer/watcher and occassionally I prod people. But I am busy watching quite a number of things, so I rely a lot on the automatic surveillance to pull up anything I need to check on. And it certainly will not be the GCSB that comes calling. We have passed on the information to the appropriate authorities - it is up to them to act.

State also approves turpentine for personal use.
You want them to lock you up if you drink it? Or ban it from the shelves?

I take the approach that if the state approves something, doesn't mean its idiot proof. Its just really good population control.

No, I am sorry, but your mundane life had no interest to us, so we did not waste storage space on our server by copying your files.

Well, you know, our law enforcement people are rather busy with crimes at the moment. As well, much of the evidence we have collected will be vaild for quite some time now, so there is no urgency to make arrests. That is especially true with harvest time. We have found it best to wait till the crops are near grown. That way the weight of plant material seized is increased and the Crown lawyers can easily argue for longer sentences.

The law enforcement people may also be waiting for meetings, and deals, organised through this forum, to take place. That means they arrest both parties red-handed as it were.
