I've done that 4 times in the last 12 years as I worked my way back up the ladder after letting my NZ licences lapse while overseas.

I never had to resit any of them a second time so other the money involved I kind of agree with that.

It did me no harm but did cost around $3500 which did hurt a bit.

Where it all falls down is that there's no test for attitude or personality disorders like being an arrogant when behind the wheel.

Most of us would fail those.

Despite what Madness says, I commute SH2 through Lower Hutt everyday and let me tell you, my ride home would be a lot slower if it wasn't for that empty left hand lane!

The last thing I need is for half those drivers to suddenly develop a little lane discipline.
So it's worn off then? This is what happens when good solid Wellingtonians travel around the country and pick up all the bad habits from drivers in Auckland & Hamilton.

A standardised road etiquette class or classes should be a critical component of all licencing in this country.

If everybody was taught the same standard to begin with most of the ignorance created incidents should drop.

Every licenced driver in the country should be made to retest just on the etiquette component of the now standard road licencing test just so their up to date.

People need to be taught how to play nice an they need to all be taught the same thing.

Nice thought and I'm sure it would have some effect. However to me it seems we hardly bother enforcing the rules we already have. Telling the douche that sat 3m off my rear end on the motorway the other night 'tailgating is bad, mmkay' is gonna do 2/10ths of fuckall - he's already in full D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. mode. The teaching would be wasted on the majority who already understand and abide by the (fairly simple) rules of the road.

Wasn't just cos I was a learner biker either, when I moved to the left lane he just started doing the same to the sedan in front of me.

TBH I think its mostly due to the majority of north bound traffic exiting SH2 to the right. As far as I can tell, if you need to make a right hand anywhere in the next 15-20Km you need to drive in the right hand lane. (well that's my theory, anyway.)

People like you are the fuckin problem dude.. IT doesn't matter whether your going the legal speed limit or not.. Don't be such a prided up asshole about it.. If someones travelling faster than you.. Then just move over?? It only takes 2 seconds of your 24 hour day? If I'm on a bike and theres a car moving fast coming up behind me i will ALWAYS pull over NO MATTER what speed they are doing because it is being COURTEOUS and I hope others do the same back to me. By not pulling over you are frustrating drivers and make them do dangerous overtakes.. Think above yourself.. Hate dicks like you

Bet you are the type of dude to honk and pull the fingers at frustrated bikers overtaking you on yellow lines.. Arrogant motrists.. Making NZ roads dangerous since ages ago..
