I've been going to the gym 4-5 days a week for the past 3 months. I doa mix of Upper body, cardio, lower body, then cardio. I've found my riding has gotten so much better just being fitter in general. I can ride twice as long on th eMX track now. Helps that I dropped around 5kg too.

Fitness is fitness though, go for a push bike ride or a run. Everything helps. The gym works for me, but enjoy going.

flyingcr is correct, nothing beats seat time for bike fitness, but cheese is also correct, if you're not fit in the first place, you won't get the benefit from the seat time. I ride every 3-4 weeks, so there's no way that will make me fit, bike or otherwise, so I run 5ks twice a week and do bootcamp 3 times a week. Diet also helps, lots of protein and small quantities of good carbs, try and stay away from the junk food.

The fitter I am, the faster I ride.

The only exercise I do... Is I turn my music up nice and load and just dance around the house like a crazy person. Works a charm and it's super fun

Lol I don't think that would quite work, Dirt biking makes me considerably more tired than road riding, aren't comparable really.

    Thumbs up

Being bike fit is like sex really...at first you suck, then there's the pat on the head from some close by saying ''there there that wasn't so bad now was it''?
By the time the tenth time comes around, the mess is less, the smile is not strained anymore and best of all, you arse can take it...

    Thank me later.

Yes I went dirt biking yesterday and it is far more work then on the road! All the more reason to work harder at exercising to get your fitness levels up
