I've been thinking my Bomber EXR forks are 80mm travel as I measure 70mm of movement...
Once I checked the oil levels and sucked out quite a bit, I've now got 90mm of actual movement which indicates 100mm of travel.
Cheap upgrades rule!

The DR passed it's WoF!
A 10,000km old E07 does have some uses...
I DO like tubeless MTB tyres. I is converted...
Yep. Going to run tubeless for this set of tyres (Mich Wild Race'R) and then go back to cheap tyres (Maxxis Ranchero and Larsen TT) and tubes for the convenience...
Unless I'm completely hooked on tubeless by then
Be interesting to see what the difference is after a few months of running tubeless to stick tubes in and compare...
I'd hazard a guess that the answer for me would be "bugger all" as I don't ride fast...
But the catch is, most of my tyres have the sidewall die of old age before I wear the tread out
New lower linkage, linkage axles and bearings should arrive tomorrow
This fitness thing means you can eat more icecream right?
Also weighed the mtb .
With the old tubeless hutchy python's on the Roval wheels, it's down to 12.5kg. That's 1.5kg lost just in the wheels/tyres.
On my short test loop, it was REALLY noticeable.
At the moment, I'd trust my old wheels with tubes in the rocky hills more, but that's because they're easy to change tubes on.
Will do my longer test loop tomorrow...
When you say tubeless i assume you are running stans or similar? I have for years been meaning to go that way as the ridgeline track from bayview across is gorsey after they trim it. That's the only reason I'd go tubeless.
In life as in dance Grace glides on blistered feet
I have Shimano XT tubless wheels on my Stumpy, swapped the Kenda's which came with the bike, they were crap, no grip whatsoever, I spoke to a downhill rider about them, he laughed and told me they call them "Kenda Surprise" for obvious reasons! Put a pair of Specialised "The Captain Control" on, brilliant tyres for grip and wear, but they do puncture! I tried a repair on one after getting a fine 4mm slit puncture, the sealant would not sort it, so went down to the local bike repair shop, they advised super glue? Did not feel that confident with their solution, so put a patch on the inside, it lasted for about a week, ended up putting some motorbike "Slime" in, sorted, does not go down once a week like it and the other tyre used to, (this is normal bye the way according to the bike shop)?
