To do a good job on the swingarm I reckon you'd need a decent sized mill to clock up the jig right anyway; plus machining afterwards means any other parts that distorted slightly during welding won't affect the final position.
    Bah, jig with RHS bro.

Good to know, thanks. I don't think I'd really get away without welding the tube.
Really would like to keep the rubber it has, because pretty tyres are good
But I suppose I may have to go with a 150 and brace the stocker
There may even be enough clearance as it is, but I'd rather not have it lock up at top speed, assuming I ever ride it.

I'll go over the rake/trail measurements again because my high on sinus drugs measuring is probably on the piss.

haha, just make it aluminium RHS, better tolerances, which will surely show through in the final butchery product

Only got a DC tig and I can't weld alloy, so I can't even be that dodgy.

I meant for the jig, you weren't planning on welding the jig were you?

I was planning on bubble gum for everything bro
I wouldn't weld the jig, I'd end up with a swing arm like your Honda

Another consideration could be a monoshock swap and alloy swing arm?

How about we pause the discussion here until you've polished and delivered my swingarm wouldn't want you getting any ideas in the meantime

Alloy might not fit too well with the rest of the bike's frame. Small tube trellis styles is the way to go imo.

    I'm sick no polishing
BTW, I bolted it up and you're never getting it back!

But... I wants bling! You're right. And making a swing arm would be fun, no point doing anything logically here because it's a GN.
Righto! I'll start thinking about making a jig thing.
Sommat like this but I don't think elliptical adjusters would look pretty on it Pretty and very simple bit of gear eh?

    I ran out of rep.

You pretty much got it covered though. Could branch out and do a wooden one.

There is no ellipse on that swingarm anywhere...Just because I'm feeling pedantic

Anyhoo, have you considered just joining another stock swingarm to the bottom of the standard item? So it's a double tube thing like the Spondon frames of old. Could look cool, and will certainly cure any flex it has now. Shit, do it right, and you could be super cool and only have a shock on one side of it. Similar to a Ducati 'Paul smart'.

Yeah I'm thinking about twin tubes, because they're bad-ass. The Spondoon ones are bloody neat
I never even considered the single shock on one side, that'd be damn sweet... and clear up the space I wanted for my scrambler pipes
Soooo, beefy twin tube, braced swinger and pivot tube would probably manage it eh?
I'm going to be gusseting the frame a little, here and there just because it was a bit too flexi as it was, and them pencil forks didn't help, so that'll probably mean it's tough enough?

Best idea yet, and it wasn't even mine

The only other funny idea I had, was throw the center stand out and rock an underbike shock? I think they look mega cool. Bitches love shit like that too

If you want it scrambleresque, why limit your ground clearance?

But I am biased towards my own musings of course.
