Shame the road through from Whiterock isn't open like it used to be.
Cheers

Access through from white rock isn't too difficult to obtain. I managed it a few years back, give the doc office a call in masterton (or maybe martinborough ?) they'll give you permission and a key for their vehicle access gate at cape palliser end ( and a key bond - $20 from memory ), and also a contact number for the Maori land owners and the station manager at the white rock end.
None of them have any issues with small groups of sensible people (shhh-- don't tell em) on road legal dual purpose bikes, and the station manager has to unlock 2 gates and ride through the station with you on his quad so he takes $10 a rider for his troubles! The Maori landowners are the least hassle, no gates, no $, no problem if they know you're going.
Looks like I may have just volunteered to organise a ride...
I am planning a gathering at the Parrot and Jigger in Lower Hutt next Tuesday for Wellington Based Adventure Riders to get together and have a chin wag about anything and everything, particularly the upcoming "riding season" and any other adventuring topic. You can register your interest on the event page created on that social site by clicking HERE
The ride needs to start at the bp in Wainuiomata so you need to sort access from there around the coast to Ocean Beach. Then lunch at the Lake Ferry Pub then off onto white rocks
get a move on
stop needling him about that or he'll give you a clip around the ears
Sounds good.
Any more requests?
I've always fancied a burn around a golf course on a bike, like that tv commercial where they use buggies, maybe I can tee that one up as well (pun intended)...
Jeez you guys don't want much do you!?!![]()
Where do I even start on getting permission through to ocean beach? Isn't that many different private land owners? Dunno anything at all about it....![]()
