Just get a 600 super-sport. I happen to know of a great one being sold around your price range..

(there may be an element of bias in this recommendation..)

There never was anything cutting edge about the 600, very old tech, very budget commuter/touring bike, not a sports bike in any sense, they're heavy, not fast and handle beige.

Your Kizashi is an average sedan, that will be outperformed by a 90's BMW 328i. Which, was a peppy sedan in its day, but not really a sports sedan (IE, an M3, C36 AMG)
And your mate's 300kw HSV will make fuck all torque for its engine size, you can use that as an argument of efficiency. (they never made a GTS ute, 'twas sedan and coupe only. 300kw was VT2 and VX models)

Let's start the "my xxxx can keep up with sportsbikes" argument.

And ruin this thread, I have the week off and nothing to do.
I've just flicked him an email to ask the exact model. I know it was only one of two manual's produced and his is the only one in NZ the other remained in Aus.

Is a shorai a sport battery?

If it's a ute, it's a Maloo, Maloo R8, or Walkinshaw Maloo, but none of 'em had 300kw. 255, 265, 285, 297, 307, 317 etc etc and 476-500kw (depending on Walkinshaw package), 300kw HSV models were, VT2 GTS, VT2 SV99, VX GTS and GTS-R, GTS Coupe.

I think it's 317kw but it's not called the Maloo, I think it's called an HSV GTS and it has the Pontiac front end on it. There was a limited run and most were sedans, all but a very few were auto and only two manual utes. It was to get rid of the remaining Pontiac noses, I think.

I didn't say that either - I said sports bike riders (who aren't always as good as they think) .. the GSF650 or GSX650 won't go near a 600 sport bike with a good rider on board .. I would not even try ...
I'm saying the bike has been fucking fun for the passed seven years .. I've sat on the road at between 180 and 190 klicks for longer periods of time .. I've seen 217 on the clock ... I'd put it up against at ER or an SV any day ...

they are worth a look ..

I could keep up with a slow sport bike rider in Edbear's Suzuki.

Personal choice, makes us have so many nice bikes available, even boring ones like Bandit 600s

Yeah .. 'cept my GSF650N is a little bit quicker than a 600 Bandit (I know - a mate nearly killed himself when we were racing ... he was on the 600)

Not by fuck all though, they're both incredibly basic and cheap bikes. They made the FZ6S look like a sporty bike which was a commuter with a hint of sporty.

The VFR range...unlike the rest being bandied around...they come with nearly 10yrs of "actual" awards for being one of the best sport tourer's ever made

...and I can confirm...they really ARE that good! (not that Im biased or anything lol...but it truly is one of the best bike's Ive ever owned as far as everyday usability is concerned)

ps...bit surprised no-one has mentioned suzuki's RF900's, again, one of the best all rounders ever made, and ALOT of bike for your money (thats my call OP...VFR or RF, reliable, versatile and lots of "real world" usability)

When Life thows me a curve
    ...I lean into it!
