I know all this aint helping you though.
Part of the reason I left the place was because it was getting harder to find places to play, went to Pakiri for a while, but that is fucked now too I hear.
Yeah this area has developed so much in even the last 5 years it's kind of sad. The dream would be living in coatesville with some land one day when I buy my own house. Nearly done being a student so I can start saving mid next year!

Have a wee think about a weekend away, oop north. HERE prolly after the holidays is best, nay, vital. Let the kids get back to school. Accommodation is rough but it's a fantastic place to play. No doubt somebody there will give you some helpful pointers, too.

If you do, PM me and we may pop over if it's a Sunday. Been ages since I busted a bike there.

Robinson road, off sunnyside road in coatsville used to be a sneaky backdoor into the riverhead forest.

That place looks awesome! Seriously considering a camping trip with mates there now. It sucks that most of the places to ride are so far out though

Can I ride in riverhead forest? Or is it more of a grey area

Was never really allowed, but they used to just tell you to fuck off, but I imagine nowadays they take it a little more seriously.
But they have to catch you first.
The dome forest between Warkworth and Wellsford used to be good too, and Te ari/ tomorata but unfortunately they do not like bikes in there anymore either.

I just really want to do a nice scenic ride like through a farm or something. I don't want to wait to ride woodhill until my friend gets his!

Look at events on the silverbullet website. Farm rides all the time.

We are "just across the bay" from The Farm but it still takes a good hour or so to get there. From Auks it's 3 - 3 1/2 hours. Not a big deal. Get a hold of Dan and no doubt he will be happy to organise some coaching. He is seriously handy.
    Bring fishing rods & beer.

I've approached a couple of farmers up here to ask about riding on there land. Once they twig we're just wanting to learn, not destroy the place and there's a dozen in it for them they are quite happy. A bit of respect & good manners still opens doors.

Have found the same, got access to some pretty cool spots that way, helps having bees on some of their farms too. Sweetens the pot a little.

Pretty serious about all this and I also wanted a ute for ages. My friend had one going cheap so I decided why not!

Also managed to score myself a pair of sweet MX boots for $40! Now my friend just needs to get himself a bike and gear and it's rides on!

Oh also does anyone want to buy an R32 skyline... Too many toys now.

Cheers. Bit of a surreal weekend buying a ute AND a bike!

I took it for a cheeky thrash in the reserve near mine. Couple of things, where can I get some upgrade bits like:

    *A longer brake lever

    *Front brake pads

*For owners/maintenance manual is it an XR200R? Which one from here: http://mybikemanuals.com/honda/honda-xr-owners-manuals/

*It rides sweet but when I come to a stop I have to give it some RPMs otherwise sometimes the revs drop and it dies and it takes a few kicks to get started. The previous owner gave me an invoice with service done on the carburettor saying "Honda XL/ATC Carb gasket set" and $82 in labour for it.

*Should I get an hours counter for it so I know when to service etc

*How good are the motors? What preventative maintenance should I do?

Way scarier than my road bike though, not sure why, but I feel really unsafe on it for now.

Bike shop or online for bits.
The manual you want is the one for your bike.
And sounds like either the idle or mixture need tweeking.
Hopefully an easy fix. Riding dirtbikes can be a lot different to riding on the road, heaps rougher terrain and shit to navigate plus the riding position, but you will get it.
