I'm not sure if my boy would want to have you as your coach, he would probably stop playing straight away ( assuming he was the non offender ).

He's only there to have fun, it's not the bloody army.

you might just be surprised, even the hardest and baddest kids actually start responding fairly quickly and favorably to structure and discipline, well that was our experience when coaching, we also took the stance that we were giving up our time to coach so expected the kids to respect that as well, only had one kid leave because of the structure put in place and he wanted back in half way through the season when he saw his "useless team" was top of the table.
kids are there to have fun but i tell you what, kids really do enjoy winning as well.

Thanks for your input how many years have you volunteered your free time time and coached for?
Have you ever considered, its pretty hard for kids to actually have fun playing sport, when there is other kids kids foot tripping, hitting others and generally causing issues........
Plus in case you haven't noticed rugby and league are team sports, they totally rely on group discipline.
Don't worry, I am pretty sure your kid would be an absolute angel. With absolutely no issues at all.

Biggest trouble with my boy is he's a self confessed nerd. At 16 all he want's to do is be glued to the two screens he's got on his desk downstairs in his room. Hmmm.

I can't imagine him putting his boots on and playing a game of league or rugby, he did use to play soccer though. Still loves his rock climbing which is good and, 17 next week so watch this space I guess.

Absolutely, I work like this. The olds realised it a long time ago, even now and then I get 'stick' and get my act together. I respond better to stricter female instruction and competition.

structure, discipline, teamwork, support you mates, being able to reply on them all good stuff.

I was in a 'useless team' (the club we played for thought so) we got it together and came second.
We had a lot of fun, once we got over our self importance and worked together (it looked very relaxed to an outside - very laid back) every one wanted to be on the field (we had 1-4 reserves each game-which was unheard of before)

When I was a kid I played in teams which won upto 30-0, quite often double digit scores. Something I didn't realise back then how NZders hang their heads when they start losing. Watch an Aussie side they NEVER give up. It's about time we changed that.

well... I got a ride in LOL, took the 2x3 xr200 with a couple a kids while the 5yr old took the xr50... stoped at the school to round up 3 farking chooks befor the dog chasing them ait em, went back to the trik and it wouldent start, trailed back with the kids so I rode the xr50 2k home... long 2k
