There was one in Waimate with a 400chev also.

The days of a modification declaration involving no inspections were great.

I don't think I've been in a car that was scary fast. I've been scared in cars before, but that was just the way they were driven.

the most scared I have ever been in a car was when (age 15) we borrowed a friends mothers 850 mini (four of us) and went rally driving (round Waimate as it happens) and he was flying down this hill on shingle towards a right hand bend and then he realised he had zero clue what he was doing....... so did we. I remember being on the grass verge going sideways looking out the side window straight down at the ground. It didnt roll because the fat kid was on the inside..... when it stopped it had grass in between the tyre bead and rim on both left side wheels. Good times. After that, whenever we got in the car with him, we wore crash helmets.

We once got a Mark 3 Cortina airborne as well though that was more fun than scary.

I'm a terrible driver because driving fast in a car seems so safe - I've done a couple of those trackdays and all the instructors are like "don't be so aggressive"

I wrote off my parents hatchback up north on some gravel roads near wellsford. Been going 50 kilometers per hour for ages so went faster and then slid into a ditch after over correcting. No cellphone reception so drove it all the way back to Auckland.

A car the size of a two door MK3 Cortina, that puts 7-800hp to the ground will have you believing!

No no I was referring to you knob cheese. Your new nickname is knob cheese. Because you should get checked and you shouldn't exist!
