Can't agree with you there mate. Starting out as soon as you can walk (Stoner, MM etc etc) is not *born into it* It's working incredibly hard from the get go to get where you want to. Rossi, Gardner etc etc have doors opened for them from the get go.
It's similar to what they say about how to win an Olympic gold medal, "Pick your parents very carefully".
They still have to do the job though, the current names we have mentioned don't seem to be setting the world on fire. Hailwood, Rossi, and to a lesser extent Roberts Jr are the successes that spring to mind. That's not a long list.
