Just a heads up EJ. The S1000RR isn't a slow speed man-hoovering beast.

Sports bike have steering geometry and forward riding position which make slow speed stuff a little harder.

Trials bikes are the best I've ever seen at slow speed work. Wish I'd done trials as a kid. Awesome skills.

Well, looks like I'm in for the pear shaped outcome. Will still have a crack at it.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

When I get a chance I ride clients bikes with their permission.

I had a ride on a yellow Ducati 748 a while back. The turning circle is somewhat larger than that of the USS Enterprise.

To be fair, they are designed for fanging down the auto strada. Horses for courses.

The worst modern bike I've tried slow speed gymkhana work on is the Street Triple 675. Beautiful bike, sweet ride. But not a slow speed handing bike.

Rather than the thinking they have nothing to learn, it could be some are fearful of the rider training for various other reasons, personally I would be very hesitant to go along to this type of training session on my HD, the mere thought of dropping it is a biggie, never mind the feeling like a twat due to age and skill level, presently I check mirrors, signal, pull over and stop, look to make sure its clear and then cautiously do a U turn if its necessary to do so.

When I used to train police riders I used to use this line.

"Okay, you're going up Manchester Street, and you see a donut sale in a shop on the right hand side of the road. Flip a quick u-turn and you've sorted your day."

If I was following you, and you pulled over to the side of the road to facilitate your U-turn, I'd turn inside you, and get to the donut sale first.

I can't say I blame you for your caution though. The farkles on the Harleys are expensive.

At the same time, anyone who thinks Harleys can't be thrown around should have a look at this.

That's Road King running boards you can hear. Why do you suppose they are hinged?

I might consider running a slow pro session for some local riders (Christchurch). Anyone interested? I have only a vague idea what the session would look like, but if there's enough interest I might get it up and running.

I've run enough Police sessions to know what the exercises would look like.

    Anyone keen?

But thanks nonetheless, means a lot. I've still got lots I know I can learn or improve on.

I'm sitting designing a new CBTA 6F route. This thread is a cool distraction. Feck all work getting done but I'm smiling, and that's a win.

Have my name down, Pete. But I'm only available during the weekends tho. Hey I can even bring my camera.
