In the USA wearing medals or insignia to which you are not entitled is referred to as "stolen valor". (Note I have used the funny US spelling.) While Trumps dressing himself in this particular clown suit is at the low end of the scale it still fits the pattern. As does his accepting a Purple Heart from a veteran. Genuine veterans tend to be offended as was mentioned in that article.

In Britain the Walter Mitty Hunters Club tracks down imposters and "bloaters". Down under there is the ANZMI website. There is probably something similar in the US but I haven't come across it. A visit to either site will confirm the prevailing attitude of people who did serve.

Cobblers. When he landed on the ship the captain gave him the jacket and hat as a gift to take home. Trump said he would like to wear them on the ship and was given the captains blessing and actually received a standing ovation from the ships crew when he told them. No harm no foul. He wore a jacket and hat presented to him by the ships command. Many presidents have done the exact same thing. The only ones offended are the same pack of sore losers who still haven't got over the election results and sit glued to their tv/computer just waiting for something/anything to whinge at.

Did you actually read the newspaper item?

Trump had his chance to be in the military but he blew it - five times. Recently he planned his first military operation over dinner with his son in law - and they blew that. Then he tried to blame his fuck up on the Generals. Why anyone in the military would want to dress him up is beyond me but I can see why veterans would not be thrilled.

Nobody has to sit at their computer waiting, President Head Case just keeps the headlines coming.
