I was on a VCC run yesterday and there was a WW1 era Triumph there in very used condition, he did trailer it to the event as probably not a lot of fun to ride on our roads.
I however enjoyed my run on the old Darmah now its 40 and rego is only about $60 a year
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

Belt - drivers are a hoot to ride. Given a route away from traffic, I'd sooner own and ride one of them than the current fashion of a moped....

No thanks. And your Triple eight is way too dear as well, so I won't call.

In the old days, we used to clean stuff up and make it presentable, with decent photos

The seller says the market will decide the price - but it starts at $4k!

I did some Googling to try to get a value - it ain't anywhere near the start price in that 'left behind a shed for 35 years' look.

when i moved to the big city i had to give up riding my pre 1920 stuff as it's just not safe, in palmy there were so many flat roads out of the city it was ridden often, but other traffic doesn't understand you lack of brakes particularly and in the wet forget it totally

The 888 is cheaper than some being marketed overseas and it's a low number so the production line boys wouldn't have had too much tuaca by the time it was made He's fishing the market a bit with the 84 MHR pics thrown it with that auction

You'd be lucky to negotiate your street for want of brakes, let alone spit out onto the motorway. Guess that's a shame, but a trailer ride would probably have to take you over the hill. Or at least to Wainuitomata.

the last time i went to the south island i sent the mrs down the hill as it wasn't going to have enough brakes at the bottom, that was with the sidecar on, apart from that i'm away often and often take a bike in the van for a squirt, one of the bonuses of having a high top van, i can safely load it myself

At one stage that was the new price. Definitely seems to qualify as optimistic.

$3.5-4k for a rough one maybe, they reached their basement price a while back and they're steadily increasing again for good ones. What he's playing on is the fact that in that colour scheme it's only 1/3-4 in the country & the fruit on it (that pipe is roughly 3.5-4k by itself.....I investigated getting one for mine when i had it but scored a full yoshi locally for a bargain) It doesn't take much fettling to get some serious GGs out of one either & can be easily turned into the proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing.
Have a nosy around some of the dedicated Japanese sites your jaw would drop at the price of the equivalent over there....one in that red/black in that condition would have an asking price equal to nearly $20k NZ

I'd buy as many as you could get me for $3.5 to $4k.

A few wistful grass is greener pictures in Brit magazines and people think they are worth heaps here too.

You'd be pretty disappointed if you imported one to UK for big bucks. No xr69 replica.

They look good in pics but they are just a nasty 90s Suzuki parts biner. A mk1 Bandit is no better or worse . . .well except that the Bandit has single shock.

Good on them for making the concept but there was a reason they were selling them for like $9999
