OMG, contact between people and countries with some of that contact being seen as potentially dodgy by an opposing government before an election. Impossible! Who would do such a thing. They say nice things about each other before elections etc... Alas though, not enough evidence to get what they wanted i.e. succeed in a slam dunk impeachment case. How do these things keep happening. Oh yeah, Trumps loyalists prevented impeachment from succeeding just so they could fuck with him come election time. Yeah, I'll go read a 400 page report that can be translated by whoever in whatever way (coz they did) just so that I can change my mind from "He probably was guilty of some things listed, but there wasn't enough evidence" to "He probably was guilty of some things listed, but there wasn't enough evidence".

How else would you describe a deliberate and determined effort by various anti-Trump interest groups, if not Rigging?
At the very least it's interfering with the Election process.
Certainly there are areas for improvement - however in a traditional election cycle, that function is performed by functionaries of both the Democrat and Republicans overseeing the Election process end-to-end to ensure fairness.
I've seen the claim of Voter Suppression levelled at the Republicans numerous times - however each time it's based on some tangential claim, like 'Oh, requiring ID is trying to stop minority X from Voting' - however the Republican position is clear: They want only those who are eligible to vote, to cast a Vote.

Okay then - what, exactly, was nefarious about appointing new Justices, after the previous incumbent died or stepped down?
They didn't 'Stack the Court' - they kept the same number of Justices.
Trump DID appoint originalist and Textualist justices - but this is also not nefarious or outside the realm of normal operation.

None of that is fact based. The people nominated were nominated by the Federalist Society based on their political views. Some had never set foot on a courtroom.
McConnell "stacked" the Supreme Court. There's more than one way to stack a court. He refused to put Obama's nominee to a vote on the spurious grounds that it would be inappropriate in an election year. Even though it was almost a year out from the election. So much for that. He replaced RBG only days before an election.
Apart from McConnell's stacking, the system just isn't working as intended. The majority of the judges on SCOTUS were appointed by presidents who lost the popular vote. So much for "the will of thae people". The system is in serious need of an overhaul and it just may get it.

Oh yes. That's all the go. The state politicians in Arizona have lost it completely. They requested the ballots and the voting machines from Maricopa County (the biggest) but the officials refused because that would be illegal. So the politicians moved to jail the Maricopa officials, that lost by a single vote. They have introduced a number of voter suppression moves but things there are crazy.
The situation is ongoing so there may be more news to come.

Not outside the bounds of what is normal when it comes to the Supreme Court or Justices.
Further to that, the Nominations were based more on their views on how the Constitution is to be read (Originalist and Textualist), not their Political views per se. Although it is fair to point out the Democrat nominations tend to favour a more "living Constitution" approach, whereas Republicans favour the latter.
And not stacking the court.
McConnell is a Hypocrite - but again - not outside the bounds of Normal Operation.
The Democrats thought they would easily beat Trump in 2016 so gave ground, thinking they could replace the Justice after Hillary's ascension.
And still not Stacking the court though.
So, I agree there are aspects of the system that are flawed - So let's agree for the moment that All sides (Republican, Democrat, Libertarian) have issues with the current system: Case in point:
However, despite broad agreement of problems with the Supreme Court, the manner and mechanism of nomination and the range of powers it weilds - there is one thing that is made conspicuous by it's absence:
Actual stacking of the court.

Watching the first 45 soconds of this video on the page linked below firmly lays to waste any of the words uttered by the likes of Demonlord and the like. DL makes no secret that he likes to argue, and his defend his position at all cost posts are, stuff of kb legend. But this video shows a man rarking the crowd up, giving clear instructions as to what he wants them to do. He says he will be right there beside them, but does not even have the courage to actually follow through. All this born of a ego so large he is unable to contemplate failure. He is and will always be a cowardly scum bag that at the very least deserves lengthy incarceration. DL, you can waffle on all you like about parts of this video being out of chronological order or what ever, it does not change the fact that all of that shit went down, and all your defend your and trumps position at all cost posts amount to less than the steam coming off a feshly laid cow pat on a crisp spring morning.

Lots of things aren't legally available until they need to be investigated by legal authorities. Legal investigations tend to remove such legal "protections" and usually throw some form of obstruction charge into the mix when such reasonable requests are denied. Putting ballots and machines above the law is asking for elections to be rigged, because no one will be allowed to check it when ya do it. ALL votes should be publicly available, coz it removes all doubt, as well as all voting machinery be available for forensic audit afterwards. Keeping it all secret is proven to be the thing that causes the problems, to the point were entire elections can be stolen, in the eyes of some judges, and the law can do nothing about it. Bonkers.
