The Democrats seem to be. Top Democrat in the Senate wrote a 'stern letter' to Trump. Sending any kind of letter to a guy famous for not reading seems gormless.

One piece of good news: a federal court has restored control of the California National Guard to the governor. Governor Newsom says that tomorrow the Guard will go back to what they were doing before Trump interfered.

It might actually be worse than that. He doesn't take the daily presidential briefings. Last time he was in The White House they put his name in every other pragraph in an effort to keep him reading at least once or twice a week. That's not working now. One of his cabinet members wants to present the briefing in the form of a FOX News broadcast. He definitely watches those.

Yes I've seen comments since. I didn't question it because although Trump often refers to "paid protestors" the only instances of people being paid to attend events that I know of has been by Trump himself. Every accusation a confession, as they say.

It seems Trump missed the bit where if you want to show you are powerful.
A gaudy show of force is not power. Just as a gaudy show of gold and flashy crap like gold taps and watches is not a sign of true wealth.
Superficial displays tend to come from very insecure personalities.
True power is shown through the use of restraint when faced with provocation and measured carefully considered response to aggressive acts.
True wealth is shown by understated class and willingness to help the less fortunate.
Maybe he's solely playing to the less sophisticated of all audiences. (Trump voters)
