Um... Calm down old chap - I'm surprised at your outburst - frankly I'd of thought any who admits to owning a Hyosong 250 would already have a highly developed sense of humour.... (P/T)

I thinks that afgan 'look' is still viewed as being a bit trendy and your average gang member wannabe is often ultra conservative and a depressingly orthodox conformist bunch of non conformist rebels. Ironically - their own rules and laws are MUCH more rigidly enforced than the societies they are rebelling against.....

besides - the idea of a turban unwinding around a chain driven motorcycle sounds rather hazardous...

the theory is that the extra weight of the helmet causes more damage than it adds in protection
Rubbish and that helmet law/fatality thing is complete BS!

All it takes is some pretty basic logic to work out that a helmet is a good idea.

The decent reports which I took the time to investigate - like check on the methods and sources - show that the weight of the helmet significantly reduces the likelihood of fatality, whilst slightly increasing the incidence of neck injury. But in all cases where neck injuries were caused, the impact would otherwise have been fatal without a helmet.

I've seen plenty of crashes with and without - it's always the same laughably obvious conclusion. Helmets save brains from splats.

And full-face helms save jaws and teeth.

We don't tend to crash all that often really, but take your chances, live or die by the consequences.

Except that it's other people too - whatever the arguments about insurance and health-care - someone ends cleaning up after the twit who thinks they're too good to crash, or thick-skulled to break.

I saw this young guy hit by a blind granny - he had enough time to break down to about 15kph! Still broke his head open and died on the road after he bounced and slid off her bonnet on onto the seal...

Still, it's good there are places which don't require helmets - as people who really object to them can go and ride there
