Both styles of groups/riding have their place.
Oh well.. I'll put my wanting to yap-a-lot to being a chick thing....

Any news on Tim, anyone? My sister is nurse there but on a different ward so won't hear from her (if she was allowed to say anything...)

No worries! Is also good to go for a more quiet ride and have a chat...
But the occasional "big block" can be fun

Exactly... you use the mid-air refueling technique?

PS Think you need to work on your quoting techniques there sir...

I'll say this really quietly so that Mr Sensible can't hear (coz he's a long way away in ChCh, and certain activities have made him a little deaf....)
But,,,. well I kinda like the idea of sneaking up the afternoon before and staying the night at a pub/backpackers or something. Its still a decent sort of day ride from here without being the kind of Chatto Creek etc endurance thing that they're doing.
There will be a few that are planning on doing the Hokitika rally a couple of weeks later so that might put them off as well (I have a holiday house booked in Wanaka that week so won't be doing that rally)

Delphinus and I are hatching a bit of a plan - maybe go via SH8, Lindis , McKenzie country, inland Cant route, over Arthurs to Greymouth or Hokitika on day one, then come home when we pick up with the ChCh riders as they come through the next day via the West Coast.
I still have to make sure I can do this myself but I think I can get away.

Were you getting a bit sick of all the visitors? Only one person to visit in ward 3 now. Quite good doing two visits for the price of one.
Come and ride the Southern Roads with us.
