Seperate drink driving incidents, none of them had been drinking.
    Reason two:
I don't get to see my kids.

I quite like the spending of time with family - even though they are not my blood.
I just wish that when I buy the most thoughtful gift I can manage they did not look like I just pissed in the pudding. Or worse sit there staring at it wondering either a) what is this? b) why on earth would he think I want one of those.
    i agree with you bigdog......

and ive just been informed i need to get strawberries
I've learnt to hide the pain inside, open the throttle and ride away.

Well, I'm having a fantastic Christmas this year. I made whiskey fudge and coffee slice, and that's what everyone is getting for pressies. It's so much nicer when you don't have the stress of worrying what to buy someone. And as i don't have kids I can get away with it.

I'm not religious, but even I am fed up with the buy, buy, buy mantra. And now it seems that Christmas is all about the fesival of "Santa".

This is family and friends time for me, and after a most unpleasant year that was 2007, I'm so grateful for both. Including the froot loops on KB.

Yet another year of trying to keep a happy face on even when I don't feel it.

I may bail halfway and be by my selves for a while.

Right now I don't feel much like acknowledging Christmas beyond one person who is not even particularly nice to me but whom I thought I would plunge my life savings into buying a bike jacket for. Don't care if he does not appreciate it. I just know I had the means and opportunity to do the right thing, so the right thing was done.

Given half a choice I would walk away and never come back at this point.
Can't say I have ever been this low before.

Please note: it will not help any for any bleeding heart to get on this forum and try to make me feel better.

In fact that would probably push me out into traffic at the moment.

Well in that case, I hope you have signed up to be an organ donor. I for one could use a healthy kidney that may not be wanted or appreciated.

Yep. The Christians moved the reason to Easter (hope & rebirth). But can't have the pagans festival-less so we now have Xmas.
And no, you were beaten up by small-minded bigots who wouldn't know a Christian if one sat on them.

If you can't find christmas this year - its at our place and you are welcome to come and join us - no presents required, just some simple food, drink and a bit of a laugh.
And THAT is what Xmas is about...you

Thats what I like about xmas... sharing what I am fortunate to have with those that are less fortunate, whether it be money, gifts, food, company or family... it makes me smile thats for sure
Your Mum sounds like she knows exactly what Xmas is about and because of that, so do you. Does Santa include batteries?

    Exactly.

Good start. You will find that it isn't that hard to have and share a good time. You do that with your mates throughout the year, don't you?

And to that other poster... Happy Hannukah. http://clf.uua.org/betweensundays/ea...ackground.html
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Darlin, Christmas for me has changed so much over the years. I have vague Santa came memoriesfrom my childhood, which I have tried to maintain. There have been horrible years (working always was a better option). When my babies were little I went all out to give them the magic that is Xmas.

Tonight, I am waiting for my son to get here, bursting to hug him actually! He will be off to the pub after that to catch up with his mates My big girl is off at her fiances parents house, I wont see her (first year without my big girl), my youngest is here until 9am tomorrw. I wont see my lovely other kids, but we will talk. My Mom is not well enough for me to go and pick her up (2.5 hrs drive) so boxing day we go visit there.

I will wake up tomorrow with the excitement of a child, I have seen pressies under the tree with my name on! I get to tell my man I love him to bits, there are presents to be opened and hugs to be given and if I am lucky phone conversations with my big family overseas. Once the kids have gone, it will be Maha and me with any luck we will get the drop in friends, if not be assured we will make the most of the day!

Yup, and I have never missed an opportunity to share with my loved ones that I don't give a shit what other people want, some one come all just don't put them on trademe...
Have good eyes, kidneys, liver, lungs better than average and the heart of horse.

When I turn toes up feel free.

Hell if you need one now and your a match you can have one, provided we can find enough sponsors to cover my time off work. If you want both you will need to wait your turn. Can't think of a bigger waste than to bury perfectly good organs.
