    No to sure

So Phoenix's rear tyre is absolutly screwed, so he is taking Jessie this week. I havent really been riding the last few weeks, and couldnt come this week anyways so it will be good for him to take it and give it a blast out. Might try and come to the car park though

If we go to diamond harbour, is anyone keen for a cruise around to Pidgeon Bay? I went there today at it was great ride. Not exactly race track material though, but a very nice ride none the less.

I'd like to go out to Diamond Harbour again. I just checked the map - is Pigeon Bay out past Little River? Not on the way to Diamond Harbour ...

Pigeon bay is 12km past Diamond Harbour.

You go round to Porau Bay and then up over the hills, through 2 more bays. Its nice and twisty, and very tight. Kinda like the summit road but without all the boy races and gravel around every corner.

    EDIT:

its actually a pretty good road, went a week or so ago in the truck before heading round all the 4WD bits on the Peninsula.
BUT... it is VERY narrow and pretty much no centre lines from Port Levy to Pigeon. You'd be fine, just take it slowly and carefully. the views are great tho!

Funnily enough D and i both actually discussed the idea that the road to Port Levy and back to Diamond harbour would be a good wed night ride

Sounds good, I'm in and will do the nana ride at the back. First trip on the new bike (Hamner yesterday) was indescribably awesome - get quite emotional about it really! Ain't love grand The wind hardly buffeted me, and I was actually able to pass cars/trucks/boats instead of sitting behind them.

I think that it's an awful road, too slow and tight, and sometimes gritty. It certianly wouldn't be my choice for a road bike. However it does kick ass on a trail bike.

Yeah but steve... your in the go fast catagory, these wed night rides started of based as a newbees learn as ya go ride the faster trips being left for the w/e.

The road mentioned will do the group good, it will give them more confidance on the slower side of things and show them theres more to riding than fast sweepers, time in the saddle doing something different is what improves ya, but then half of them dont believe me anyway

Might be worth stopping for a feed at Godley House (yes, thinking of my stomach again), and then those that want to go on there can. I pottered around with some of the slower riders last time I went out, and I don't think they would really enjoy that road much... yet. Would be a shame to abandon them or go somewhere they'd feel uncomfortable riding.

Yep, agreed. Just think they might still be a little nervous and wouldn't enjoy it... yet

I'm keen to give that a go but I think you might be right Imdying. Maybe we should stop at Godley House on the way past and get a feed and those who don't wish to continue don't have to. Personally I think it would be a nice little ride
