I did the full loop on wednesday with a bunch of guys of here there was one young fellar that i was certain he was going to get the helicopter ride home
he was pushing that hard he was ending up on the white line on the other side of the road i just sat behind staying back waiting for it to happen when we got to whangas a couple of us said something to him witch he listened to
+1 Agreed! Crashes are not fun. Good post, scarily eye opening. Sent shivers down my spine. I never want to see a rider go down again *ehab that mean you too bro, no exceptions*, and skidmark, I would you rather have a "huge fucking grin" after getting home safe than them not being able to tell if your smiling or not.
Me too.
Coro loop is not a race track. Ride to the conditions & enjoy some of the most fun roads in northern NZ. Go for smoothness other than speed & carve up the corners safely.
Him mit der R1200 Bayerische Motoren Werke Gelende Strasse
never been on the loop
if I ever go to Auckland I will do it
Sounds to me like a road where Pace not race would be more enjoyable
I enjoy the twistys bits over, down and around hills as much as anybody else
But Pace myself rather than try and go as fast as possibile...
I think thats more fun, more relaxing,
Corro loop sounds like a ride I will enjoy one day
I guess there are similar roads down here on the mainland
Enjoy a hot pace....dont die in the race
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
I have seen this on many an occasion, while most of the time Actually prolly more like 99% of the time I don't know the people, it still affects me.....I notice the difference in my attitude...my wife cops it, my kids, my workmates, my bosses, so those soughts of things don't just affect the victims and their family's it can affect upwards of 50 or 60 people just on the emergency services side of it.
Also people they are doing loads of rd works on the road between Whitianga and Kopu, so be extremely careful .
I think this thread epitomises the difference between good riders on this site and those who equate fast with being a good rider. Good riders always ride to the conditions. Then there's the others who have no idea about scanning the road and surroundings for potential hazards.
agreed. That post should be framed and put up as a sticky.
Scene of accidents aside there is nothing worse than a visit from the police in the middle of the night that starts with "Sir, I am sorry to inform you ........"
Skiddy and I have crossed threads more than I like recently and although I really want to shake my head and walk away I pity the poor cop who is on duty on the day that is coming who has to give a speech that can only be read off a script. There is a RIP thread coming for skiddy. I have no doubt at all about it. His "friends" are far too busy defending his "illness" to give him a slap round the ears and let him know that this stuff is not ok.
I can only hope that no one else gets taken out at the same time.
Absolutely!
Best place to stay in Hawkes Bay here
Nearly all men can stand adversity and hard time, but if you want to test a mans true character, give him power....

Indeed - I do wish some would get a bucket or just take thier bikes to a damn track and go racing...
SM has x-ray vision though and scans THROUGH the rock wall while rounding 45km/h bends at 140km/h.
He also has USD forks, which enable him to scrape fairings and engine casings before scrubbing off his chicken strips...
Just as well it's your bike that's in a box right now!

A husband is someone who, after taking the trash out, gives the impression that he just cleaned the whole house.
You are really pathetic - I know that you have a "oh look at me, look at me, look what I can do" 5 year old mentality. Riding like that where someone died showing how "clever" you are is ridicilous. Remember that is where he died - are you that much better rider than he was?
I dont know the guy, but can only imaging him there looking down saying "slow the fuck down - I dont want you joining me" - not "way to go Skidmark"
