Thats interesting. One of my daughters was on her way to highschool this morning, woman on scooter stopped at crossing for them, car behind scooter didn't, one traumitised daughter, one scooter rider away in ambulance, hopefully not to badly hurt. Now shes worried it was her fault. F***ing car driver.

I have a strong stomach for this kind of thing, and tend to tolerate most of it. This one was no exception, but it defiantely disturbed me how graphic it was. I've never seen anything quite like it. What a horrendous end to a life - I'm sitting here imagining what it would be like if that were my brother or father. Terrible.

With you on that!! I still can't believe that people would allow their deceased family member's demise be shown on the net, shocking eh.

Fuck me! That looked like Thailand - but what gets me is that the body baggers weren't even wearing gloves!! My mate did a bicycle tour through Thailand and Vietnam and he said that in Vietnam a scooter rider had just been killed in an accident in the road up ahead and that he had to ride his bicycle through body parts and blood for fear of stopping the traffic and having the same thing happen to him!

Family are likely to be in the 3rd world and probably don't even have a computer or internet - besides, you reckon the person who chucked that on the internet asked their permission first?

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

I see this as most certainly being the fault of the truck driver - I've said it before and I'll say it again, there's never ANY excuse for hitting someone from behind. The truck driver is going WAY too fast, right up the arse of the scooter rider. He ASSUMES that he knows what the scooter rider will do (which is plain stupid in my book), and caused that accident. I hope he was charged criminally.
With how close they were I am not convinced the driver new he was there.

Quick road safety lecture for those folks who have never driven a rig.

Even in a cab over there are about 2 meters in front of the bumper the driver cannot see. More if the driver is short, has stuff on the dash etc.

Never defend your lane position on any bike. Own it yes, defend it no.
    Pure physics you will lose.

The truck driver wasn't able to stop in the distance available to him.

Truck driver will be giving people more room in future I think.
