I have to ask if you have ever ridden a Virago. I ran ScorpyGirl's new one in up and down the Southern motorway in 2001 every day to work and it hauled my 100 kg bulk along at 100-120 kph quite easily. No problem passing cars or trucks.
As with most cruisers, a screen will deflect the worst of the wind, so headwinds are not a problem.
