Had a mufti cop flash their lights at me since I had forgotten to turn mine on (2 stroke kick start, lights drain power, 10m down the road, I'm not an idiot).

A cop flashed his headlights at us on the way to Manfeild on Sunday. Didnt slow down till we were a bit closer and could see tha car as thought that he was a citizen warning us of the Police. we werent exceeding the limit *too* much but he could've pulled us over but didnt.....

Hmm, not many muftis have taken out bikes - but I get your point.

Well, yeah. That was a poke in the eye . Don't worry, if y' put a black patch over both eyes, the pain and watering will stop in a few weeks, and y' can continue working as normal in the meantime.

Can be a perfectly serious response in such a case though, mulfti or no. "Well, one of the cars in the group looked to me like he might be thinking of pulling out to overtake. I wanted to make sure he was aware that I was there, so that he didn't. I'm a very cautious , safe driver, and a lot of fatal accidents are caused when a car crosses the centre line into opposing traffic. It's good defensive driving to advertise your presence". (Which it is - I flash for that reason all the time)

BTW, noone has asked the most pertinent question. What on earth was the OP doing letting a snakemobile follow him like that. I *never* let myself be followed by a cop, no matter how law abiding I may think I am . Always pull over, or go down a side street. Don't like being behind them either. Take another route. (And remember, the buggers have rearward radar, too).

No matter how well you're obeying the law , there's always *something* they can get you on . And may be will if they're short on quota. Not to mention that Cunstable Cunt is still out there and he hates bikes on principle.

Isn't that why they were put on cars, in the first place.

I was in the tauranga crew riding over the hill that night! Thanks to all of you who flashed there lights at us! We saw 3 coppers in a 45k stretch, the first we saw and had nbbed someone, the 2nd we got flashed for, the 3rd was passed at high speed by several of us and they didnt bother to turn and chase even though they probably new we were going to the local for a quiet one! That one must have gotten its quota or was at the end of the shift!

I've been flashed heaps of times by marked HP cars. Usually its alternating headlights flashing accompanied by a flashing red light, flashing blue light etc etc etc

I guess the 3 minutes of being humble, saved me the $150 fine she kept going on about. Boy did she want her pound of flesh!

From there I saw at least 3 more patrol cars, - but of course, -------- the end of the month looms, - get out there Guys and start writing some revenue!
Should have told her to fuck off and use someone else as a sheild and drop the attitude will your at it! *smile* Say it with a smile though.

Ahhh, so back at the staging post when you kept saying, "I was just gonna head off to bed..."

Is there really an offence "inappropriate use of the headlights" on the books or do some cops just make them up as they go along?
