I flashed a few cars as they appeared in the distance, to give them a sporting chance... as I'd hope someone would for me.......then WHOOPS, spot an unmarked blue Maxima among the oncoming bunch - BUGGER, nothing happens, so carry on - almost predictably, 2 minutes later, the Patrol car following me pulls me over and has me on. She was PISSED and had an attitude! - - anyway after much droning (her) she gave me a smack-on-the-hand for "Inappropriate use of headlights" which will be recorded in case I do it again.

Is loss of ticketing opportunity and the loss of revenue the real reason they are planning to ban the use of radar detectors? As there is no evidence drivers/riders who use detectors have more accidents.

I think it refers to a mandatory field in the old Wanganui Computer System. Whenever entering details (i.e name (Q.P) or rego (QVR)) to be queried, the system asks for the QID of the officer requesting the data.

The way I heard it a police officer is legally required to provide their badge number when asked for it, no matter who's doing the asking. Have I been misinformed?
