I just think it is sad that this is the attitude of quite a few people...I think the significant problem is "Depression" which leads to alcohol, abuse etc...

That's why the place is going down. You aren't allowed to complain because you are either told to piss off or that other places have it worse.
    Gee well, that's alright then.
What happens if someone came to you with a branch stuck in his leg, tell him to harden up because other people have cancer? Because that's the message I seem to be getting from some here. Yes, other countries have it much worse, but what? because of that we are not supposed to talk about the problems facing this one?
Seriously, I don't get it, surely talking about problems is the first step in working out ways to fix them.

I really like the place and have done very well here.

I'd like to send some of the whiners to Mogadishu for a week and see how they reckon when they come back.
Yep! That pretty much sums it up BD. What ever happened to good old "Patriatism" ??
Why not try to focus on some of the "Positives" out there. I'm sure there are many and then try and reverse the "Negatives" This just may help to change the way we look at ourselves and our Great Country.

Are you comfortable in black and understand the intricacies of the F-stop?
I'm also worried about self promotion and egotism. You may have to ramp them up.

Depends on who's defining the problem, one man's "bastards won't pay for my kid's doctor's visit" is another man's "fuckers are thieving all my hard earned wages".

Fact is the existing system rewards short term expediency for those who believe they're underprivileged, and stunningly that's enough of a majority to hold power. If you constrain government performance objectives to achieve economic targets that produce the best return for the majority you might get better results for everyone.
