"Patriotism - the last refuge of the scoundrel."
Pride in your country - yes, but if things are wrong, it is every persons duty, if he truly believes in and is proud of his country, to speak up, bring attention to it or try and put it right.

Why not try to focus on some of the "Positives" out there. I'm sure there are many and then try and reverse the "Negatives" This just may help to change the way we look at ourselves and our Great Country.

Louie G described me as 'relentlessly positive' just recently.

    Jim sees it as osterichcitus.

I see it as controlling what I can control - and best dealing with what I can't.

    Gee well, that's alright then.
What happens if someone came to you with a branch stuck in his leg, tell him to harden up because other people have cancer? Because that's the message I seem to be getting from some here. Yes, other countries have it much worse, but what? because of that we are not supposed to talk about the problems facing this one?
Seriously, I don't get it, surely talking about problems is the first step in working out ways to fix them.
I see your point, however, all we talk about is problems...what about talking about the good things and realising that the problems are not really problems...and don't need fixing...you know "what is the worse that can happen"

Stick v Cancer thing a bit ??...I would help.

But to compare whether things are good or bad here you have to look around rather than be insular to realise that things are not so bad here...

They don't sit in a corner rocking backwards and forwards, they aren't picked up by grandparents or a paid cargiver and they get fruit, fibre, and carbs in their lunchbox, and water in their water bottle. Weirdos.

Well now, some people think that there's only two options. Whatever the sheeple want to do to you, roll over and take it up the arse; or, run away.

Other people think there's a third option. Fight back, fight for what you believe in, for what should be. If that be called whinging , good for the whingers. Seems to me that the folk crying "I'm happy to take it up the arse, those who aren't should bugger off" are the real whingers.

No , indeed it is not. But only because there are still enough people willing to stand up and speak out for what they believe in, whenever the PTB start casting covetous looks in the canine direction.

The price of liberty and all that.
