Nice pic Matt, now you need to take a detour and get one of Gladstone Hillclimb road as well.
Well....it seemed like a good idea at the time....

Whats the name of the unsealed track to the left?
Looks even more appealing than the old Rimutaka rd.

That would be the Pylon Track, aptly named for it's proximity to the Pylons... A lot of Featherston's unemployed use it as a main arterial route in & out of town.

All it needs are marshals and a chequered flag.

MUST go for a blat on that
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

That's my favourite place. The Feathers side looks kinda straight from there too!
Yes, the folds in the terrain mask some of the better corners.

    yes

I went over there on Saturday. Riding Mikkel's ZXr750rr down to Welly for him. Was looking forward to a bit of fun, but what I got instead was drizzle and diesel. Lovely.
So I went home over the Paekak...much more betterer.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Do a search on You Tube for "Rimutaka" and you'll find a stack of videos.
