    Tank Art

A while ago Quallman1234 asked me about my Space Spray Art, and wondered if I would be able to do something along the same lines on one of his tanks.

Now having never done this form of artwork on anything other than the posterboard, I thought hmmmmm could be a fun challenge.

So a tank was dropped off in short order, and I got to work on preparing the surface.

After spraying on a sealer, I applied several coats of black, and then a couple coats of white, letting them dry for a couple of days each, ended up with a surface I wanted. Onto the actual artwork itself.

This took roughly about 40 mins to complete. (No airbrushes, or ordinary brushes were used at any stage). A couple coats of clear spray to finish and it was left to dry in the sun for the rest of the afternoon.

Applied a few more coats of clear as a sealer, and whoila my first attempt at a tank painting.....

    Enjoy

Ordinary aerosol spray paint. And pages from magazines to create the texture of the planets and the background scenery.....

Exactly! I keep asking him that and he goes all cagey. It can't be bloody spray cans, it just can't. Can it?

You are more than welcome to come around and watch a demonstration anytime......

And yes it's all without using a paint brush....

It's about layering of the colours and the smearing technique using the magazine pages....

The vid below is from the guy I learnt this off..

Should give you an idea on how it's done......Nothing cagey about it......Just hard to explain

Sure can put on a demo and show him the basics if you like....

And the fuel cap is real.....Put masking tape over it, then peeled the tape off when done....Didn't want to get any paint over it.....
