Well bad luck about the off, good onya for ownership of the off, and ya got to watch those speed bumps, rumour has it that they move them selves around to catch out unwary bikers.
Glad to hear its only a bit of lost bark and dammage to Ego, both easily fixed.

OH and have a good day Katman!!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

    Bling sent

Glad to hear you're learning from the off Reido, just remember that there is a big difference between the speeds you would of been doing on the grass and over 100kph on tarseal... I doubt you would of come off so lightly.

All the best for gettin the bike fixed

See how you have made a decision here ? What has happened is, your fears about how far you can lean have forced your brain into survival mode, and will not let you lean the bike, because it seems that you will slip the tyres on the road.

NOW, perhaps this is true - you might have skidded? Perhaps you wouldn't have? It is very difficult to tell in hindsight, but one thing is clear - if you HAD leaned it over further, it is POSSIBLE that you MIGHT NOT had slid on the road - AND got out of it.

Point being, in an emergency steer with the bars - you MIGHT get out of it, you never know. No paniccing and chickening out - because you WILL have an off.

    Hope that helps !

Best of luck getting it sorted. Sorry I am too far away to help, or I'd pitch in.

Did you read the first post?

Do you actually recommend going over speed bumps cranked over at speed?????

NO. re-read. Its a game of probability.

Compromised, do we take the corner anyway ? Or do we chicken out, stand the bike up and hit the brakes ?

My point is, you have a very good chance of getting out of the first situation unscathed, and a very poor chance of getting out of the latter. Know how to conserve your angle of lean and conquer your fear in an emergency, and survive. Over-subscribe to your fears, and die.
