I own the domain bimota.co.nz because I was supposed to build the web site for him. It never happened.

    Well here's the low-down of today's efforts

After speaking directly to Stoney Creek Powersports this is where it's at:

They would not consider selling a aussie destined DB7 to anyone in NZ as we have an assigned Distributor here so they have an agreement not to deal directly with the NZ public unless it's through the NZ distributor.

So after being directed to who the NZ distributor is and finding out exactly what number of DB7s are destined for Australasia all the necessary information and details were collected and have been sent to Bimota for them to approve

There are 2 DB7s pre sold in Australia which are due there in about 6wks and another 2 planned to be sent out in 3-4mths.
There aren't any designated to be sent to NZ (as of yet )
$35k deposit and they're delivered directly from the Bimota factory

Stay tuned we're looking good to steal one of the aussies

    whoah! $35k deposit. crikey.

by the way, if anyone rolls up on a Z650 kawasaki with the original pipes, spoked wheels etc, I'd be keen to buy it. or a GPZ550 but they're rockinghorse poo now.

Apparently a guy in Auckland (I think his name is Graeme Miller), operating under the Stoney Creek Powersports banner Sells italian scooters as his main business but is the official NZ distributor. Operates as a separate entity to the Australian business.
Australia weren't prepared to deal with an NZ customer and said that we had to deal directly with the NZ distributor.

According to what we've been told there are a total of 14 air-marked for the Australasian market

$35k dep to confirm the order and then the rest is paid once the order is processed

    76-78 Z650 ?? and I presume you're meaning a twin shock GPZ550 with the handlebar mounted fly-screen fairing & not the later model Uni-Trak half fairing ?
