I went from a CBR1100XX to an ER6F and I could feel the speed drop (who wouldn't) but after a few days, I got used to the ptwin torque and found that the ER6's range was amazingly manageable. It tops out at about 230 - 240, would take a lot of road to get from 220 - 240 but before that it gets there suprisingly fast. If I'm trying to do a quick get away from the lights or over taking from a car in the open road I often find myself doing 140 and cruising, it's so easy to bring it to power and it has a mid-high range that still pulls in the lower gears.

Around town is is a DREAM, especially when you score a green turn light at intersections, it just goes on rails around any corner, is amazingly light and can get lighter with a few mods!

Mirrors are a BIG problem, being tall and long armed I couldn't see beyond my elbows once I put my Renthals on so I had to fork out $85 for some OEM extensions, problem solved though. Work a treat.

Brakes aren't the best, I replaced them with EBC brakes and there is much better feel and stopping power.

The bars are love/hate, I was so used to my aggressive sport bikes like the ZZR1100, CBR1100 so I got the streetfighter bars and felt a lot better with them, though I could still love the bike with stock, nothing wrong with them IMO!

Seat is ROCK, FUCKING, HARD. Seriously, it's the worst seat ever. I'm just dealing with it but coming from a rider.co.nz, I seriously felt it!

I'll have to leave with a quote again of a review of the bike earlier in KiwiRider because it rings so true about the bike and how I felt when I bought my CBR1100XX.

"Ego might convince us to buy something faster, but that's a shame because this is a real bike, for real roads, and for real people who want to ride all the time, in a variety of conditions."

---sorry for the long post/thread derail.. I find it hard to stop talking about my bike

    Nice post dude.

Can you list all your mods and approx how much $$ it cost.

What are the mods to make it lighter?
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

When you say you have some EBC HH Sintered brakes. Is this all you are talking about? > Link

Nope. The claimed HP figures are within a gnat's whisker though naturally the 1000 has more torque. The changes I've made still come in at less than the difference between the 750 and the 1000, plus I wanted a screen.

Just thought I would add before I derail the thread further - When my bike was getting the Givi stuff put on I had an '04 Z750 for a few days as a loan bike, I would have easily gotten one if I were wanting a naked bike at the time, it rode aaaawesomely. Same hard seat as the ER6 though hehe

I don't have many mods, just changed things here and there to make the ride more comfortable..

    Renthal Streetfighter bars - $140
    Weighted bar ends - $20?
    Progrip gel grips - $20?
Puig double bubble screen - $70 USD
Full Givi set up, panniers and top box - ~$2000'ish (completely overkill but sets me up for summer greatly, all any normal person really needs is a ventura rack and an RJAYS bag really.)
    OEM Mirror extenders - $85

I had a Micron exhaust on it but it was far, far too loud, I like to be understated so I'm probably going to Virgin Mufflers to get a custom one with my desired noise level.

Re. weight, the most major thing you can do is replace the stock pipe, there is about 7kg of dead weight on there, it even has a handle for you to use it as a dumbell once you take it off! You can get a fair amount of aftermarket fairings which are lighter, I think the Catalyst ones are the lightest.. they also are well below the top frame so if you want a very race like style position you can fit clip-ons easily, as well as adding 636 front end, etc.. the bike is a hit in the states so it has a billion mods for it. You can also fit faux clipons on that give it a good feel also. I prefer my street fighter bars and stupidly wide barends though, makes it unique and feels great!

I only have a picture of my bike with my Givi stuff on, none of the other mods were on at that time, and I know you don't like my 'girls dairy' type video rides :P But this is what I see from my view, fastforward to 3:20 to the good-ish stuff where i stop talking and put music over, (moss, gravel, wet roads = slow zeo), don't hate on my girly 'video diarys' !

    What road was it mate?

And you're 100% right about your girls diary! damn man where the hells the exhaust note! music < exhaust.

But yeah very nice vid setup you have, no wind noise but i guess at walking speed you don't have to worry about that!!

Very tempted with the er6f, imo looks better than the z750 and the lower hp should help me slow down (tui ad if i ever saw one lol)

Monument Road leading up to Hunua, first time since Summer doing those roads.. I prefer to have only one broken colarbone in my lifetime, so I stop to enjoy the roads every now and then! :P

Re. exhaust, I've never really heard my exhaust, all I hear is the engine. It's quiet and heavy, you can't even hear the bike if it passes you, it's just a wind shivvering sound, when I can stretch my budget a bit I'm taking it to Virgin Mufflers to get a custom one made up, with a nice tone but still fairly quiet.

The way this bike eat corners and spits out torque, you'll be losing your license just as easily as the z750. You seem like a 'loud and proud' biker, if I'm correct and you buy the ER6, then Mt Eden have a mighty nice, earth destroying Micron can in their hands with your name on it.

I don't think i'd ever buy a bike from mt eden motorcycles.

"loud n proud"? Not really I just want to go fast (hence why i should get the bike with the lest hp )
